Minelab Quattro

A client just brought me a Minelab Quattro for service.
But unfortunately, the detectors come to me for service often too late, when some "master" has already done his job and caused a lot more damage with his "knowledge".
It is always much easier to repair a detector when nobody has touched it but it comes to me in its original condition.
Serbia is full of overambitious "masters" who know everything. And that is why Serbia has become the world's largest graveyard of detectors.
I've had an Explorer XS and an Explorer SE in the past, but never had to service them, so I wasn't really interested in looking under the hood.
Is it possible to find parts of the schematic of the smaller pcb of the two, which obviously houses the power supply part as well as the audio part?
In the worst case, maybe a list of the original components and their position on that pcb?

Thanks for the pictures.
Unfortunately, Explorer and Quattro differ in some details.
I noticed that the rear and smaller pcb is quite different between Explorer XS, SE and especially Quattro and Safari.
Schematic X-Terra bears no resemblance to the aforementioned models.

In the meantime, a friend tells me that someone on Facebook is making jokes about this topic and making fun of my ignorance.
Signed as "Anonymous Participant". lol
Local mentality.
Here in the Balkans, we are lagging in development some 50-200 years behind the people of Northern Europe and the "Western world" in general.
Not because we know less, but because we don't have that level of culture and awareness.
Sad.
I will leave this world totally defeated by that fact.

In the meantime, while "Anonymous Participant" was writing his garbage on Facebook and gaining fame among lookalikes...
I discovered most of the chips on the smaller pcb.
Minelab unnecessarily removed the tags from the chips, it is very easy to find out which ones they are.
The problem is deeper than I expected.
By soldering the naked wire across the resettable fuse; the previous "expert" (maybe it's the "Anonymous Participant"?) did a lot more damage than I expected!
In order for the smaller pcb to switch On and start work completely; a gate signal from a larger board is required and missing! Ouch!
The total ignorance of the "Anonymous expert" led to damage on the larger pcb as well. Ouch!
And now I have come to the moment when I wonder; does it make sense to continue working? Because this is not even worth it now.
That's what it leads to when an illiterate and stupid "expert" accepts the "servicing" of such machines.
And it is not impossible that it is the same person who appears on Facebook as "Anonymous Participant"!

That Quatro has been broken down for ten years and was serviced by someone in Pirot, maybe somewhere before that. You value all the people in Serbia and everyone tolerates you because they realized that it makes no sense at all for anyone to value you. Fix something and get over it, not everyone in Serbia knows anything, except you.

The one from Pirot also looked at the post and said that he was going on vacation in Sokobanj. So make an agreement.Originally posted by ivconic View PostIn the meantime, while "Anonymous Participant" was writing his garbage on Facebook and gaining fame among lookalikes...

By God, I never dreamed that you were the "previous servicer"!? Or are you the one posting on Facebook as an "Anonymous Participant"?
Otherwise why would you post your comments here, now after the Facebook screenshot and not before, when I asked for help from colleagues?
My few posts were just "fishing" to see who would get caught.
I was 99% sure it was someone else.
As for visiting, Sokobanja is a famous tourist place, everyone is welcome.
Here is my locations:

In my opinion, the best and fastest way to fix a detector for which you have no information; is to ask colleagues.
And what is the best place for it?
Well, Geotech Forum, of course!
I don't see any sin or motive in my asking; as argument to make fun of it on some local Facebook group, nor to write scathing comments.
Whenever I can; I help people on the forum and give my contribution.
When I need help, I publicly ask my colleagues on the forum.
What's wrong with that?
Making fun of it is a direct indicator of backwardness and primitiveness.
It will take us another 50 to 200 years to reach the level of culture of some northern and western nations.
Devastating but true.

Of course, there are always insults.
I don't understand just one thing; why did you appear on this topic?
I didn't even insinuate anything against you?
You seem to see things that aren't there.
I'm not going to get into ugly rewrites with you on the forum.
This forum deserves better behavior.
