Metal detector with double tone and reject discriminator

Kt-315 , Is the md-5012 6.99 Khz and 25 cm search coil , detect a small coin to 35 cm ??? Does it work ? Thanks Eugene

Hi Eugene. MD-5002 (the same with 5012) detects a 25mm coin at 25...30 cm with the 25cm coil . It is a very sensitive coil but with bad discrimination .

research Part List. it is not so simple you think. very clear it is Discovery (like to Magnum, ETI) schematic. Bounty Hunter or what - I do not know, I am not living in USA to aware about all the schematics' Evoliution. maybe earlier schematic of Discovery one? I do not know - you must know it, in your part of the World. there are SAT control, GEB tuning, very good schematically. and absoliutely modern list of IC's. good static schematic, but it is not DINAMIC schematic, that is why it has so poor discrimination (maybe, I do not know due. it will be as search as I will get access to the device). detector also has second gigantic coil (I have not the photo but I hope to do).

I ment that the board looks bad - made from children, component mounting ( and the PCB itself) are ugly... I know it's not a bad detector, not to mention it is vey low priced (300$ here). Have a look what i call nice board.

Amateurs put enormous effort to make their own handmades, more or less with some success....It is not fair to act like you do KT315....Laughing,irony,jest....at the same time posting photos from originals and trying to be smart....Is that all you are proud of? Than you have nothing to do here.....
If want to see originals from inside and outside i can post you 1000 photos here....I seen them all so far....Simply i do that for living....But i wont post here those....I am proud to post my own handmades....

Really KT315!? I thought this is freelance forum, place where enthusiast and amateurs are meeting to exchange...? No "borders"...

If you prefer "chips" fine! I salute that! Go make detectors like that...I dont have anything against...but do not come here and offend others with stupid irony!
I do have over 30 detectors....among others: DFX,GTI2500,XTerra,SD2200 and few more with uP's,LCD's and simillar high tech's....So what?
I didnt saw any benefits of those on real fields over old analog detectors...
I cant even claim that those are even comfortable to work with....!
Yes it is good to see some progress....but low benefits from pushing high tech...Playing with menus, wasting time...
Also as old radio amateur i rather prefer old simple analog,discrete electronics and pcb's.....there isnt greater joy than when your handmade works and shows good performances on THE REAL FIELD!!!

I had million fonds so far with my "obsolete" ugly and "ignorant" detectors...
How about you? Any finds?

You are "pushing" uP's here...so...do i need to tell you that i am designing professional systems based on 8051 core for over than 20 years? In radio matters of course...Last 7-8 years i switched on newer Microchip systems due new rules in this bussiness...
I never wanted to involve those of my experiences here in this subjec - metal detectors...cose it will loose soul,mystic,joy of amateur designing....
Also there are a lot of people here plain amateurs, but good enthusiasts...already showed as very good people....Do i need to "choke" them with my knowledge? Do i need to push them to something they dont want?
