Chris2 , the only ones that have a schematic are the military electronic technicians , also called "Electronic Mechanics" , and the manufacturer . No schematic that I know of yet , SORRY !!! But here is a very Colorfull brochure with photos and very limited specs. This must be one of Schiebels best machines , and it may be government classified "secret information"...........If you acquire one of these machines , you can carefully disassemble the detector . If it is VLF or PI , should not be a big problem to repair , if you have proper test equipment . Let us know if you have any luck..............Eugene

Thanks... the product info I have too. Actually my detector is not defect it's working perfect and is extreme sensitive to tiny metal objects. I thought to modify the timing of this detector a bit so that it can be used for gold prospecting as well.
A schematic would make it easier to see how and where to modify the circuit.

Hi,
if you haven't already you simply cannot get it.

I tell you it's a PI detector with different design than others, different timing and pulse strategy.

Now, without revealing anything new or sensitive... it's a double pulsed PI, with pulse opposition 180°: that's why it's a mine detector and this way it will not trigger (hopefully) any magnetic fuse... producing a big blast!

The tx current peak is around 3A at both pulses...not really much considering other PIs, e.g. commercial ones.

The coil is TX-RX concentric, with good pinpointing.

The rx part of circuit is fairly complicated and uses digitally controlled S/H ics + a very particular vco.

It's sensitive enough to steel to detect small pinfire/trigger where they are present in the mines at a good depth, many inches for very small piece of steel.

Hi Chris.
I have a Technical Manual for AN/PSS-12 MINE DETECTOR SET. It is not classified and is dated 28 FEB 1995. It contains a wealth of info including pc board parts layout but no schematic. I have photographed the pc board close-up to identify resistor values and part numbers. Many of the components are unidentifiable such as transformers. All part numbers are military only. I can email any part of the manual, but not the whole book.

Hi all....Nice forum....I have a question...I have a AN-19/2 Mine detector. It's not working at this time and I need some assistance troubleshooting the problem. I know that it's getting power and the switch is working. Other that those 2 basic functions I don't have the knowledge to figure it out...Any suggestions woule be appreciated.
