It is likely that you misunderstood me or that I expressed myself wrong. I have made watertight coils with size 1.1x0.7 meters. They should be placed 4 meters apart and lowered into the lake. I tested a 15 meter long cables between the electronics and coils and it works fine. Can easily indicate a squaremeter metal of 4 meter in the air. This is good enough for me .... But I have not tested this in the water. When this is finished, I upload a picture of the "monster" on the forum. Will this not work, I consider your proposal with the magnetometer.

With Coils in paralell (face to face) 60 meters between coils I can detect the signal. In 90 degree as standard Twobox with distans of 90cm between coils I can detect a car for 2 meters. Hope you can understand this.

Yes Hakan, now is clear to me.

Only I cannot undestand purpose of such measurement, if you use two cheap walkie talkies you can detect signal between those two some kilometers apart. But I think this do not mean much if you use both stations as T/R metal detector.

I use transmitters and receivers face to face in order to tune the resonance. When I have the longest distance that I have resonance in both the sender and receiver.

As I said at the beginning of the thread, this is a one-off project to find an airplane in a lake. I do not think I will do some PCBs for this, at least not now.
ToMNEA a Voltage output 0 to 9 volts.

I think this a pretty clear design, I like it, but I don't believe in usefulness of T/R detectors .
