After a hellish summer and facing herricane Florence's high seas I finally got a chance to take my Dan's side scan out today. I used an Eagle Z6100 cristal LCG Recorder rather than hooking up the Lowrance X16 paper graph. worked an area just off the beach in about 25 feet of water. took a little adjusting on the eagle and playing with the length of cable I let out. But it did rather well and we found a wreck we were interested in. I had added a wing to my version. but found that if not careful the prop wash when making turns would flip it. So the wing comes off before Sundays trip. All in all I was pleased with this wreck hunting tool. hopfully I will have the tow tec finished before sunday's trip. I heard that Florence has been down graded to a tropical storm so with any luck it will be out of the area by then.
