  • Motion_compensated near-surface transducer

I'm thinking of mounting something like a 997c on a motion-compensated arm in front of a boat. I've got it worked out to be simple and inexpensive. It can handle 6 DOF, well to be honest 6 DOF with lags.

Before I convert theory to reality, I thought it would be a good idea to see what already exists. Has anyone any experience with such a motion-compensating package system?

And while I'm here, what is the effect of turbulence right in front of the transducer and what mounting requirements are there to get the right acoustic impedance ie does the transducer have to be mounted with a full solid back plate?
