        Starfish details.....

Supposedly they think the market will support £2000. I like the functionality the things offers but with only 15m of cable you won't be able to get it down very far.....even the chap I spoke to reckoned about 5m. As far as I'm concerned that limits the operational capacity somewhat.....especially for the open water types amongst us.

            Contact....

I was contacted at the end of last week...but there was some kind of marine equipment show on that the company had been to and it had taken three days or so to get a reply. I suppose they're quite busy....I don't really know! I would give you another e-mail address for them but I have a feeling that it was just the [email protected] one that we already know about.

I hope they have a longer cable then that.

It won't be much use if they have a short cable.

                    info

-"The fish is supplied with 15m of cable however we are also looking ahead and may be able to extend this to 50m in the future. This will be a long term optional extra, in the short to medium term we will be supplying the fish with the 15m cable option."

                      Hi,

I need a side scan sonar for my sea recovery team. Can anyone recomend a fine brand? Top of line. Money is no problem.

                      Thanks in advance.

Hi RIROCKHOUND, thanks for your reply.

I see the 4125 is listed with 3 models available from Edgetech's site. 4125P, 4125S and 4125D. I presume the Dual Freq D model is more adequate but what about the Portable version , any difference?
Dou you know the price for the 4125?

I also see models 4200, 4300 and SAS 4400 reach higher depths.
Do you think the 4125 has a higher cost/benefit then?

                          Regards.

I think the Portable is more to do with the topside than the fish, though I might be wrong. I would recommend dual, lower freq for recon, the higher freq for confirmation. I don't know about the others, my experience with EdgeTech ends with a system similar to the 272TD. The 4125 is on my wish list!!!

Email EdgeTech and I'm sure than can help you out. Not sure on the price, 30K? all told maybe?
