Imagenex Sportscan and iPad

Last summer I made an iPad application for my Imagenex Sportscan side scan sonar. Now I can connect to my towfish wirelessly and use my iPad instead of PC laptop with GPS and Serial cards... much easier.

Here are some sample images. As you can see I have implemented google maps and target locator.

How do you connect the towfish? physicaly to a Laptop, and you connect wireless from the iPad to the laptop? Or do you use any other hardware to connect the towfish?
