    Absolutly no sensitivity loss!

    !
Usually if you set your detector to higher discrimination it will reduce the depth for lower scaled metal like iron.
The depth reduce can be from 30 to 50%.

I couldn't believe it when I recognized it for the very first time (because usually I always hunt
    at allmetal-mode)
There is absolutly no distance difference for the DeepHunter no matter if iron or alu if you turn up the disc to absolute full !!!

Watch the 2 videos, they are REAL! - a 6-7cm diameter alu-beer-can detectable at 1meter at full disc!!!
And from around a half meter from the side - I have extra recorded this, too.
If this doesn't convice a person nothing can help it!

Just to show you what large and super-deep discovery-field you can get:

    DeepHunter - beercan @ 1meter with 45cm coil.zip (30.11 MB)
    http://www.multiupload.nl/3JK7GZRTI5

btw. this was my first winter-test! Instead of sitting at home I've been already 5 times now treasure-hunting
while it was up to minus 5 degrees celsius outside and the ground was frozen 10cm deep - but not in the woods.

True and real treasure-hunting experience always is important, even if its deep in the winter!
Of course the temperature was "nothing" for the DeepHunter - with the hang around the neck box you even
haven't the problem that the detector incl. electronic etc. will sink down under snow!

And don't play around at minus 5 degrees outside with XP Deus including "micro" coil accus which will lose already all of its juice
after 2-3 hours under colder conditions!

    And not to forget:
My test was filmed just 30 meters close to a railroad track. Listen to the almost silent threshold at sensitivity 10 !!!
    This is the MAX!

Other detectors would still beep like hell at such locations, especially those which must use just very low EM-field-power!

Don't think finding a drink-can at 1 meter will be the limit.
It's just another step into absolute possible so far perfection.
The next big deal will be a 2ft (65cm) coil which finally and first time will be able to work at a realistic level in this huge world!

Walking around with all those hand-sized coils is like going with a small boat over the ocean... pretty wide away in dreamland!

Better take the luxury-dream-liner if you wanna have real fun and success!

Hi mod pls replace the above link (typo errors inside the zip) with this: http://www.multiupload.nl/EVWLNVX6RR
I'd have done it myself if the edit time wouldn't be so limited. And next please del this additional post here, thx!

The depth reduce can be from 30 to 50%.

I have to make this more clear:
Of course the DeepHunter's discrimination works good, at disc level 7 you wont find even steel stuff of a size of 5cm no longer.
But for your own profit often you can still hear a sharp short cuted "crack sound" so in doubt you still can dig this find if it "sounds somekind extra"
or if it's located on a special location! Believe me, often I got good hits then, even when I wanted to discriminate everything below the settings.

So to say it more precise:
If ya just wanna find silver, gold-alloy, bronze or brass stuff, there is absolutly no depth-difference if you hunt with or without discrimination!
The DeepHunter has the same depth no matter if with or without discrimination (the disc out is just unhearable or gets a special cut sound)!

But compared with most if not all other detectors: with those you "must" hunt at all-metal if you want to get no 30-50% depth loss for noble finds!
This factor of the DeepHunter together with its extremly immunity against electro-smog is a really important multiply for professional treasurehunting,
Because if you believe it or not: People lost their stuff in very old times also often where today are roads, trails, villages and cities - and full of e-smog.

How deep or thick a void do you need in order to detect it?
For instance if a 6" PVC pipe were buried 3 feet would the Deephunter
            detect it?

                  DeepHunter 1m-coil-mod for ultrafast broad-scanning!

20 days ago I finished the rolling-device for the Jeohunter coil:
                  http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showt...745#post183745

and yesterday I modified the 1m DeepHunter coil so it also is able to drive on wheels with the broad side ahead!

Because of the smaller coil-plug which fits through the original DeepHunter fiberglass-pole where the handle is mounted incl. reset- and other buttons
the following mod is not absolutly necessary, but it is better because that way the cable is completly free of the fiber-pole.

The steps are pretty simple but still must be done correctly:

                  1. if connected, disconnect the 1m coil cable plug from the DeepHunter electronic box
                  2. remove the plastic screw of the coil-pole which is mounted to the 1m search coil
                  3. remove the pole
                  4. remove the 4 plastic screws at the location where the coil-cable vanishes into the coil
                  5. open the plastic-cover carefully
                  6. cut the two cables with a pliers in the middle so you have still enough lenght to work with them
                  7. unscrew the plastic parts from the plastic cover and afterwards drag the cable out of the screw-parts
                  8. drag the cable out of the fiber-pole (hold it at the bend-gum-part, it should move gently out of the pole)
                  9. remove a 5mm part of the plastic-shielding from each of the cables (see pictures)
                  10. insert the cable back through the upper plastic screw part and turn this, until the coil-cable is fixed
                  11. stick this part back to the plastic-cover and screw it tight closed from the below side
                  12. solder the cutted cables back together on their fitting ends:
                  13. start with the inner white cable of the thicker grey cable, isolate it first and afterwards solder the shielding wire
                  14. after all cables are isolated again, you can close and screw tight the plastic-cover
                  15. make a short test if the coil still works as before, there should and will be no difference if done correctly

btw. I found out that the DeepHunter and Jeohunter 1m coils would be compatible if there justs exists a coil-cable adapter plug!

Instead of installing a seperate 4pin plug for the new motion coils they are using a connector with 9 contacts which
has enough connections for motion plus non-motion coils alltogether, but of course this is not good for compatibility.

You can read the little-pin numbers directly at the coil-cable plug, this is now the pin-out:

pin 1: the inner white cable of the grey shielded cable
pin 2,3 and 6: the shielding of the gray cable (those pins are connected inside the plug so the DeepHunter knows its the 1m coil
pin 4: the single white cable

If you compare it with the Jeohunter 1m coil diagram here:
                  http://www.geotech1.com/forums/attac...5&d=1325844719
you can see how the cables are connected, and if you have a spare Jeohunter 1m coil you can use it for
                  the DeepHunter and vice versa.

                  1m coil pin layout:
                  DeepHunter pin1 = A pin Jeohunter
DeepHunter soldered together pins 2,3 and 9 = B,D and E soldered together pins Jeohunter
                  DeepHunter pin 4 = C pin Jeohunter

If you have done this mod and some rolling device the real treasure-hunting-action can begin!

The success of this 1m covering while rolling coil will be simply Gigantic !!!

You must imagine sites like Amarna @ Egypt which is 5 x 10 kilometer in size, all covered with dust and sand!
btw. now the turkish Lira is 25% less worth compared to Euro and Dollar as it was 1year before which means
that the price of such a drivable profi-tool will be much better for many countries and even
amateur-treasure-hunters are able now for not much money to work like professional ones!

Usually those big ground-scanning-systems costs 10.000 bucks plus and only see some magnetical-field differences
without cavity and without noble-metal discrimination.

There exists many huge battle fields of km x km (miles x miles) size:
First you can find out very fast the good locations and later you can exploit them as first person ever!
Thanks to the high recovery speed compared to P.I. you even can drive up to 10 km/h (ca. 7,5 miles per hour)
and you will still get usable good signals.

If you walk with this 1m coil only at 5 kmh pace it means you are covering over 5000 squaremeters per hour (ca. 6000 square-acres)
which raises the chance in finding big stuff compared to usual MDs on a multiply-factor of 50 to 100 !!!
And you will reach depths the usual hand-hold coils so far can't detect anyway at all.

So this 1m-rolling-coil-mod is an absolutly must !!!

Everyone should be glad this possibility now exists at all because with those unstable PI pipe coils it was not really an option.
And paying 10.000 bucks and more for such "land-scanning-devices" is out of reach for most treasure-hunters anyway.

If we are lucky Makro Detector will creates a "free cable" version of the 1m coil and a full plastic coil roller -
this one is producable in China for less than 5 bucks and for 10 if we want (yes, we need it) higher quality!

If you are a DIYer and if you are interested in real treasure-hunting, too, don't miss this opportunity!
Because we will use this technology for shure, we will use it directly now and not in ten years.

Instead of a "shoe-detector" which only finds very small and surface-near stuff we have now the
ultra effective and comfortable "drag coil on wheels, walk relaxed in the park"-method for huge sites.

I have done it already, I know what I'm speaking about, the only difference now is that I can hunt with the full "100cm scan"
(3ft) instead of the 60cm I worked with in the beginning. But for woods its often better to drag the coil with the small side.

Good luck and please take a look at the pictures.

                    Hi landman,

Your question is good and cavity detection is not so simple as with metal.
I made already tests with brick layers and cavity below because it is important that the cavity creates enough contrast-factor contrary to the usual soil or ground.

You can read about my cavity tests at the Jeohunter thread.

                    > 6" PVC pipe were buried 3 feet

If this pipe would be metal it would be absolutly no problem, the standard and the 1m coils would find it.
But if its a 6" PVC pipe filled with air or water 3feet below it highly depends on the soil.
The more soil and the deeper the more contrast-factor you will get, even if the ground is just low-mineralic,
but it also means that the cavity in such a case has to be large or deep enough and 6'' at 3feet could be
                    to unsignificant at all.

It also has to do how undisturbed and everywhere the same mineralic level and moisture the soil is.

The best way for finding out if the soil is mineralic and good enough would be to bury a 15 liter plastic-bucket upside down at 2 feet.

However the cavity detection absolutly works! A friend of mine found an old wine-cellar containing a coin-cache 1,5meter under ground.
The 45cm standard coil penetrates up to 4meters into the ground and if the "energy flow" is changing because instead of solid and mineralic
soil there suddenly is a room or whatever it is easy detectable. The more sensitivity and the more experience you have, the better.
Cavity detection usually is not that simple for beginners. They are used to find metal objects which are on the other side of the GEB Ground Balance.

Usually cavity should be deeper than just only 4-5'' if we see the PVC pipe's volume as a small square-shaped and very long nonmineralic block,
because the ground below the cavity will thin out the contrast-factor again if the signal-level is too weak compared with the soil-mineralization.

Thanks for your interest and good luck.

                      LCD backlight on-off- & Volume-Mod

Today for the first time I opened the DeepHunter.

                      link below:
                      DeepHunter 2xmod a.jpg

The new motion circuit pcb is mounted on top of the improved JeoHunter platine.

This time I modified directly 2 things at once - the procedure is pretty simple:

                      LCD (backlight) on-off switch:

The LCD is used for the nonmotion circuit only (depth- and object-shape-scan, 1m coil, cavity etc.)
But often the LCD wastes energy for nothing and if the LCD is off the most of the time the battery life
per hunting time last up to 50% longer (9 hours instead of 6 hours with one accu pack for the Jeohunter).

The needed monitor cable is still the same as it was with the Jeohunter - it is the most right black cable.
Its the cable (of all those colored monitor cables) that is located in the most right and behind corner.
The black cable of the right row of cables - see picture.

Cut the cable, solder wires and a switch inbetween, isolate everything and mount it at a good location.
I've used the place directly over the head-phone jack for that little on-off switch.

                      variable resistor for the Audio-volume:

The non-motion circuit has a digital volume adjustment (10 steps) but the new motion-circuit has none at all.
Usually this is no problem but sometimes it is better if the volume is full adjustable, besides adjustable headphones.

The DeepHunters inbuilt speaker has an orange and a grey cable. Cutting one of those cables, solder 2 wires to both ends,
isolate them and connect the ends to a poti (or variable resistor) is the whole thing. Important is only a good place so it
is easy and fast turnable - from the outside of course. You can place it above the coil-cable and press-buttons-connectors.

The default motion-circuit signal output is pretty powerful or "very good hearable" even if there is a loud storm or a street
close to the search location, so I guess if set to more quiet the battery life could last ca. 15% longer.
And at special locations where it is quiet everywhere anyway a too loud signal-output could attract unwanted persons
or animals. Sometimes a treasure-hunter needs or wants something like "stealth mode" but without head-phones for
listening whats going on in the near vicinity like silent voices or steps, does somebody comes closer etc.

Try to make the needed holes as small as possible or isolate them afterwards so the electronic is safe from water or moisture.
The best location for the holes is the side where the coil- and pushbotton-cable-connectors are located.

Warning: You may lose your warranty if you open the box!

Those 2 mods are pretty simple but its still "your own risk" and you have to decide if it is worth the improvements.
And: Please remove the accu-block before you start with this modifications.
For the standard DeepHunter user it will be better not opening the box and save the warranty at least until it lasts.

This new modification info is mainly a demonstration to show you what kind of improvements are possible and useful.

And that way everyone curious now can take a look whats inside without voiding his warranty.

btw. inside the box shines a blue light - a little LED - if the power is switched on.
But in a case of emergency (lost without flashlight in the dark) you can use the LCD-screen directly as a "torch",
as "hang around the neck - lamp". Don't laugh, you never know when it comes in handy. Its not ultrabright but
it shines well enough a few meters to see the way and ground ahead.
Its really spooky if you walk at night only with the Jeohunter or DeepHunter LCD on, alone through the woods...

Well, for the moment this was it with the DeepHunter modifications. Now the fun can begin... - ....at least if
winter is over or If I start a new life in a country where the whole year is treasurehunting-season...
Like the Hoffmann's (from the Discovery Channel gold-digging docu series, since 3 years now)
in Guyana, South-America. Bye bye permafrost Klondike & welcome to the jungle...

                        useful DeepHunter Accu-Pack

This time - instead by soldering-iron - I opened the Accu-pack with a foxtail saw!

Of course this has to be done extremly carefully, otherwise the saw destroys the cover of the batteries which even can lead to short-cuts.
But everything went great! The half stuff of the DeepHunter akku-pack now is inside the laptop akku-pack, replacing the old batteries.

                        A very good tip:
If you have a notebook, laptop or similar device with a removable accu-pack, always remove it if it is longer connected to the mains adapter
and used for longer time at home. Otherwise within one or a few years the accus will be ruined because of the many charge-recharge cycles.

Such LiPo or Li-Ion accus can remain for a long time in very good shape and working-condition if recharged / charged every half year only
or just if they are really depleted through normal device activity.
My DeepHunter / Jeohunter akku-packs from 2009 - 2010, now over 4 years later, still contain over 90% power compared to that time!

Also because those are completly disconnected from any "low-energy-draining" circuits. Inbuilt accus often gets slowly "eaten" by internal
circuits, standby and all-the-time-ready "solutions", especially mp3-players are prone for this. Those devices are never really switched off,
and over weeks or months in standby they consome alot of energy and even can fully deplete the accu.

So for storage if possible always completly remove the accu from the device and keep it at a cool and dry place.

btw. meanwhile I have a spare DeepHunter plastic case but thats no problem, the standard size of those accus is 18mm diameter and 65mm lenght (type 26650).
You can buy those as single units or already 4 in series connected with the same voltage and size, so when I find some good 3000mA strong, I can create a super
                        new megapower accu-pack.

And be warned if you see such model 26650 lipo or liion accus with 5000 or 6000 mA written on it. This is ridiculous exaggerated by many fishy accu-producers!
Outside they write an attractive high mA value but inside such accu often is totally unpowerful! Those 26650 lipo-cells can maximum contain around 3000mA!
If you will really test the capacity of such oh so fantastic 5000mA accu-cells you will see that it may only contains half the power!

Good Luck for the new treasure season!

                          MEGA SEARCH

Finally I made my first test with the 1m @ broad side rolling coil - it was perfectly successful!

I used the Jeohunter with 1m coil so I described everything at the Jeohunter thread, but because meanwhile
the DeepHunter is the updated and new version, I wanna inform you here, too. There is no big difference,
the DeepHunter's 1m coil is the same good working for this fantastic modification and opportunity!
There is even an upgrade in depth sensitivity the DeepHunter has - at around 10-15%.

                          enjoy:

                            The real treasure hunting practice!

With the DeepHunter and the lightweight 45cm motion-circuit-coil you will find 2cm muscete-balls up to 20cm deep and
with a loud signal as if it would be a 40cm deep little cannon-ball! AND: within a few minutes located at a huge battle-field!

The detection signal with discrimination at 75% is simply amazing or HUGE!

That was not only my yesterday hunting experience!
Within 6 hours I covered an area of 2000 meters x 1,5 meters which is 3000 square-meters and I could extract every little lead-ball!
plus: the coil was all the time 10cm above the ground for faster sweeping coordination.

Of course the same applies to other precious stuff and smaller stuff like coins or jewelery.

The only drawback the new DeepHunter motion circuit has compared with the Blisstool is that it does not signalize high-mineralic stuff
by fast double-beep but on the other hand this also has the advantage because so it is much more sensitive to very deep old rusty iron stuff
like celtic fibulas. And compared with the Blisstool the DeepHunter is around 60% more sensitive or stable directly under high- and usual electricity-lines
or at area with other electro-smog (near houses, villages or at towns) - the DeepHunter is perfectly usable directly at New York Central Park!

And: if the soil is very loamy a very fast sweep can lead to a repeatable failure beep. But this is easy avoidable by sweeping with a not so
very fast sweep speed while cross-pinpointing with coil. It has to do with the extremly high sensitivity of the DeepHunter and because
high concentrated loam often is the end-product of mineralic or even iron-containing stones!
However: you will be 100% certain if the find is real and no high mineralic ground or stones disturbance because the DeepHunter will show up with a perfect find signal even if you sweep the coil extremly slow if crosspinpointing !!!

The perfect good news is: the ULTRA FAST RECOVERY SPEED of the DeepHunter! You can sweep the 45cm on a 1,5 Meter radius within one quarter
of a second or even faster over a bow distance of 2,5 meters and the detector will scan a 50cm broad slice of this area with highest sensitivity!

You even will hear the signals of 10mm small coins up to 15cm deep at such high recovery speed.

The whole thing is: it will raise your motivation extremly even on sites where others find no longer anything at all.
And at the same time you will discover totally new treasure-areas - EXTREMLY DEEP.

The complete ineffectivly way of treasure hunting is sweeping a 15-20cm coil just ca. 70cm wide and 20cm infront of your feet!
That way the treasure hunter needs ages and within 8 hours he may have hunted an area of 5 x 10 meters!
This is 1/60 of the area I have covered yesterday with 6 hours! I hope you can imagine what this means:
The find chances have been multiplied by 60 !

And with the new rolling 1 meter coil for larger finds you can raise your find-chances with the DeepHunter even more.

Another very important point is the weight !!!!

Please believe me: If the coil is 45cm large it has automatically some weight and you really don't wanna hold also the whole
electronic-detection unit on your arm! Such bungee-cords-stuff will reduce the burden but it still makes a difference if you hunt
more than 4 hours and if you hold only the coil in your hands or if there is also attached enerving battery and electronic-unit.

And raising the probability to find something is crucial important!

Look at the gold-digging profis at Canada or Alaska!
The bigger their dredges and machines, the more material they can run!
With a little washing-pan nobody can wash out enough gold for a living.

The new DeepHunter combines 3 extremly important abilities in one detector:
It is extremly high sensitive with a very lightweight huge coil AND it is extremly e-smog stable!
                            This is an unbeatable combination.
And further of course it combines the possibility of 2 circuits in one so you can use even the 1 meter non-motion coil for ultra depth and discrimination at such depths which PI detectors never so good can provide.

And I'm really glad that this still is an absolute insider-detector because that way my personal concurrence never will get all those treasures I find!

Those yesterday made 6000 !!! squaremeters with the DeepHunter and 45cm motion coil within 6 hours were just a little warmup.
Usually I hunt from dusk til dawn if possible and beyond at night if its needed...

Always remember: Motivation is extremly important! Thats why everything that demotivates you for treasure-hunting has to be reduced or eliminated.
If the finds just pop out of the ground because you have raised the probability in finding something on a factor x30 to x100 the motivation remains huge !!!

Or seen from an other perspective: If you are living at a land where treasure-hunting usually is more "frustrating" it will be this absolutly no longer,
after you have raised the find-probability by the factor 50!!! In the end it means: You will get 50 times faster richer !!!!

Sounds too good to be true for you?!
No, here this not the case, I swear!
All you need is a high sensitive and stable large and lightweight coil and the DeepHunter provides it!

Even the much cheaper CoinFinder CF77 (ca. 800 Euro - 1000 Dollar) provides a similar high sensitivity and large coil, but it should be moded for more lightweight as hang-around-the-neck detector or used with such a weight-reducing bungee-rope-equipment.

And finally one thing: The DeepHunters 32cm standard coil is so ultra extremly sensitive for small stuff that most treasure hunters could start avoid to use it
because they really will find 2-3mm little metal-parts if they're unlucky 10cm deep! and this can be a hell of a work to find out with an ultra-high sensitive pinpointer only where those little metal-things are located !!! Its the perfect thing for very limited areas with deep buried little roman copper coins but not for
finding extremly many finds within a very short find all over a real huge area! Its absolutly no more fun if it gets repeated poking around in a digging hole for 10 minutes and end up with a little 3mm nail or little metal-splinter!

But it is the absolute fun walking fast over huge sites with the metal-detector and 45cm coil and get stuff every few seconds!
Its like a luck-gamble or a slot machine where you get every few seconds your cherries or much more interesting and precious wins!

btw. did you know that the turkish currency, the Lira, meanwhile is 40% less expensive as it was 1-2 years ago?
This means that as european, american or even citizen from other countries you could buy this detector now at a 40% !!!!!!! price reduction !!!
if you are clever enough and if the resaler is fair to give to you those huge price-differences! Otherwise buy it somewhere else or directly from Turkey!
The price in 2013 for the DeepHunter Profi Package with 1m coil was ca. 4500 Euro (ca. 5700 Dollar) and for the CoinFinder CF77 around 850 Euro (ca. 1200 Dollar).
I say you this important info as a friend so nobody can trick you in telling you that the price has been already adjusted to the new 2014 currency-conversion!

The new real fair price because of the cheap turkish Lira should be around 3300 Euro (ca. 4500 Dollar) for the DeepHunter Profi-Package and around 600 Euro (ca. 850 Dollars) for the CoinFinder CF77, not higher! And don't wait until the turkish Lira becames more powerful or "expensive" again!

                            Good Luck!

Extremly high electro-smog pollution field test videos!

                                @ Davor
It must be so long so nobody wants to read it! *just joking*

No, the thing is: Special stuff needs detailed info and if you're not interested, don't read it!
Don't go to the cinema if you don't like 2,5 hour long movies. It's always just a question of interest or motivation.
I will also not read some of the dozens of whole pages long threads here, which are 100x larger than one of my single postings!
So keep cool, Davor, nobody forces you to read everything here in this forum! Relax. And many posts are pretty short like this here, anyway.

                                @ all

Yesterday I visited a location where usually EVERY non-motion detector is completly useless,
because it just beeps like crazy and the sensitivity is reduces by 70-80 % !!!

                                There is within 50 meters a 380kV line, a ca. 50kV train-power-overland-line and a train-route !!!
Can you imagine what an ultra-high concentrated electro-smog pollution you get there ???

Usually a metal-detector already starts to go mad if just one single train route is 50 meters nearby,
but the train-electricity overland lines are 5x noisier and those lines was 25meters directly above!

This special situation is because the last hill of a steep mountain is in the direct way from A to B
so all the connections are concentrated at this spot (have to go around there). (see attached sketch)

But as you can see in the two videos, the DeepHunter with 32cm motion-coil still does a fantastic job.
It detects a little 16,25mm and just 2,3gram lightweight european one cent coin from 15cm in air
                                - at around 50% sensitivity and ca. 55% disc-level. If that coin is buried the result is even better
because that way the motion-circuit is fully active and filters away even more of that high e-smog.

It is very sad that most metal-detector-producers or inventors absolutly don't care at all
how strong electro-smog renders their detectors unusable.
They must be ignorants if they think that all the treasures are buried far away from human activity, towns, roads etc.!

However for me and many other professional treasure-hunters this situation is just perfect and it can remain forever,
because that way I will find all the stuff at locations where others can throw away their highly disturbable detectors!

They bought a product that works only "half the time" correct or as long as the hunting region is just perfect.
And nobody (besides me) told them before, which also is very unfair!
It's: "typical metal-detector-business": creating exclusive-resaler-contracts and don't telling the custumers the whole picture!
Thats why this forum is so perfect, here every interested person has the chance to get the complete information and for free!

                                Good Luck!
