I know the Detector Pro Pulse machines are cheaper, but how might they work in the coal cinder yards around old schools?

Thanks Carl, I'm pretty dumb when it comes to this type of machine. I've used VLF machines since 1977 and can honestly say a PI has never been a desire until now. I'll keep all this in mind for the day I can either trade or buy a good used PI unit with ground balance. Now I'm thinking about trying something in the mean time. I'll take a magnet nail sweeper that is 2 feet wide and attempt distracting all the material on the surface then try the machine in these areas. If no results are achieved I might try moving 2-3 inches of top soil and try again. Since I don't live in gold fields or close to the coast the cost of a PI machine to hunt a couple locations is not really a good investment unless I can buy used.
Thanks for all your help.
