  • Just wanted to share: Its Alive!!!

Thanks to all of the help I have received on here, I was able to successfully complete the Surfmaster PI build. I made it waterproof and fabbed everything myself.

Thanks again and let me know what ya think

That is a very nice looking MD! I would imagine that Waikiki_Sweep might be interested in that coil - it looks to be stream lined for water sweeping.

it is 100% waterproof and 1 solid piece so it is great for water and should be neutrally buoyant. just took some epoxy and a mold...

done well but on 30-50cm length from the coil the stem has to be from un-metallic material.

I used noise suppression earmuffs and took the speaker out of headphones. I then used latex/nitrile glove cutouts and glued them over the earmuffs opening after installing the speakers inside of the earmuff. Ill post pictures in a bit.

I used a aluminum waterbottle for the housing. just had to make sure the opening would allow everything to fit

As far as the testing... I get 12-14" air test and I will be heading to the beach tomorrow... ill keep ya posted

                          Machine looks cool!
Yes. Sure. Elliptic coil will work great.
But you have to make lower part of shaft from plastic or fiberglass (non metallic) and it is good to make it flat and hide cable inside to reduce drag in water.
                          Congratulations!

jfais1717 said earlier that the stem is made from PVC.
Presumably it's sprayed with some paint that makes it look metallic.

I remember Carl did always reply in those stems' collizion a White's shaft is not so expensive and easy accessable on query.
