2 choices, persevere with the dealer to get a replacement (your being fobbed off by e'm !!)
or just buy a replacement, there about £15 here in the uk from major dealers.

annoying to have to buy a replacement yourself, but poss easier,
then,
vote with your feet and shop at different dealer in the future.

Quick fix, duct tape
long fix drill hole and insert nylon bolt from r/c hobby shop.

Ok I'll put an end to this now, thank you all for your comments, fixes and life lessons, I think I get the idea!
i don't accept secondhand goods for new prices, even if the train is 5 minutes late or not. If we all accepted such shoddy workmanship, nothing would improve.
Im not angry, I just don't like being fobbed off by people of low intelligence
