Here is Voronezh during 2nd World War time (1942) :

    And here another joke:

A man was at the pub and comes home very late.

His wife already waits, she's angry and opens the door:
Look at you, you are fully drunken, that's disgusting!

    He answers:
Well, my little house-dragon, the thing is:
Tomorrow I am sober again but your face still looks ugly!

A man goes home from a wild party - pretty late at night.
Now he remembers that his wife told him that he should come home early. Oups!
While he's "walking" home he finds some slugs left and right of his way
    and takes them with him.

In front of the house-door he places the slugs in a row and rings the bell.

His wife opens, pretty mad at him. "Why are you so late?"

The man just looks at the slugs and tells them:

"Come on little slugs, now it's just a very little walk and we're at home!"

    - No, I'm not going. The wife allowed the house to drink vodka.

    Nice movie, thanks!

And welcome to peace-loving Europe, Ukraine!
    An Eldorado full of war-remains!

btw. there exists infos that in and around Kharkov during 2nd worldwar more infantry-ammunition
was used than the amount of the complete 1st worldwar altogether!

I have uploaded some 3 minute clip about Kharkov during the 2WW:

The german soldiers called it: Sharkoff ! But I doubt you have a zoopark with sharks! *joking*

btw. virtually and by computer I was already for a treasure-hunt at the Ukraine!
    Girl-treasure-hunt!
Just only by the first picture and knowing the city I found out from where it was made
    - not having any GPS data, district etc.
Ukraine is full of treasures and perhaps I will visit it this year!
Many of the music treasures from there I also have already.

    1000 years of European history

However, there are used only the official data.
An alternative, still unexplored and hidden content, this animated map will be much more interesting.

Thx for the very interesting replies.

    First some infos:
    Origin of slavic language:
There were 2 big language families going out from northern Europe - germanic and slavic.
On the map red and medium green:

The map shows pretty good how the "antique" german language made its way to England and Northern America
even if there where massive influences and battles coming from the south (the Romans - today we can
call them the "antique italians" have been at England)
Blue is the romanic language of more southern Europe which made it to South America.
Both (germanic and romanic) are indo-germanic languages.

Now, the slavic language started grammatically seen from the Balticum.
From Prussia, the Gots and the south and east wandering tribes.
More Info and a nice map here:

    Now back to treasure-hunting:

    Privyet Bigstarman,

your book-treasures and -discoveries are very interesting!
If those statues (buried ones) are made of mineralic stones I'm shure the Easy-Rad will find them.

The http://www.efir.com.ua/rus/a.php?r=4&d=19 link I have to translate and read first
    - I'm interested in amazing discoveries. Ukraine and Russia always was very creative
in constructing technical devices - as a kid I bought from my pocket-money some
hunter-binoculares made from there I still have. Not expensive but solid and good quality!
    And with some cyrilic letters!

Yes, Voronezh is already beyond the border in Russia.
I need to study some 2nd worldwar material.

    > Give me a specific place I can check for you.

Thanks for the great offer , perhaps you might find some old veterans or their families
and they know something about that region, the war, the battlefields, the prison-camps etc.
I guess this was more around the little villages and only some old farmers might still
know something and can show us some interesting places.

But even if I don't find those places where the soldiers once might have been
its a fantastic experience to see the region there personally.
I should go there by foot, this would make the journey even more fascinating.

    > In Ukraine many beautiful places for hunting, fishing, adventurers and treasure hunters!

Absolutly! And 1 liter Vodka for just 2 Euros - homebrewed of course!
Too bad KaZantip meanwhile is Russia or whatever.
When I visit Odessa sometimes (which is a must) I will check out if this Party-Land
located on the Crimea still is full of action during the summer.

    > marshy ponds and forest river are best explored in winter

Very interesting. btw. actually its pretty warm around Kiev - I can
watch the ukrainian weather-forecast - 8° around during the day and
not much snow - which is absolutly the same as I have here.

    > invited to search vehicles WW2 for European museums and collectors

I'm shure you can find even directly at Kiev in the Dnyepr sunken WW2 stuff!
    And many other things, too.

    Good luck - Tshasti!

    Yes, I agree.
For example, I know a specific place where was the battle of the Vorskla river in 1399.

There really is a lot of artifacts found. I found a huge tip of the spear and a lot of small arrows.
According to a famous archaeologist in the late 19th century: "...arrowheads were found more than in the entire history of archeology of Russia".
And now, you can find many artifacts of that battle.

We professionally work at any time of the year in the field of GIS.
For example, marshy ponds and forest river are best explored in winter. I have a team of specialists and a lot of search devices. Often invited to search vehicles WW2 for European museums and collectors. )))

I have spent many years working archeo linguistics and is ready to assert that the origins of the Slavic languages are much deeper in history. Known "founders" of the Cyrillic alphabet (Cyril and Methodius) invented and destroyed sushestvovala then the language and the alphabet, cutting it beyond recognition. The father of history Herodotus wrote about the Scythians: "the country is full of literacy... there is a printing press". I looked at the Scythian stone idols. Often they hold in their hands, rectangular object. No modern historian does not tell us what the object is. But to some, the well-preserved shows that it is a BOOK. Sometimes these books are open to us and deployed pages.

    Hi Polymer,

no problem with the somehow late answer, I hope you had a good time!

Better one hole too much as one treasure missed!
With enough motivation and time on your hands even digging is an interesting thing.

It's very good if you search very fast so the chances are great that you will catch
the big stuff first. Later as an old grand-pa you still can do it the slow and relaxed way!

Of course you have to search the area over and over again, even if you think you've found already everything there.

Especially if its a region with trees and bushes where the main search goes the simple, easy and obstacle-free way.
Or you can try it with a different detector and other coil-size again. Wonderful finds may still wait for you...

    Cheers!

    You are absolutely right.
    History confirms this..

Haha! I thought you would be interested in the treasure.
Ukraine is in the ranking for one of the first places in Europe. There is information that was found less than 3% of the treasures on today.
A lot of interesting still lies in the ground and waiting for its new owner.
When will be your arrival in Kharkov, whistle for me. We the people are friendly. Organize your visit to fill Ukrainian gorilka and feed the peasant lard.

    Hi Bigstarman,

    thx for the reply.
Meanwhile I found out where a close relative was imprisoned during WW2 -
    somewhere around here:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Voronezh_%281942%29

It's just a few km away from Kharkov and a great place for a relics hunt!

What I like at the Ukraine but also at the Balkan is its more wild, naturally and heartly nature!
You can call it also a little bit more rebellic compared with the "pet-zoo"-Europe.
Countries for real adventurers and treasure-hunters!

The ukrainian people are absolutly amazing - when I drove with the train, an ukrainian women
I met at the restaurant-waggon which actually lives in Swizzerland, invited me to their house in the Ukraine
    and gave me swizz chocolate.

btw. one satellite with many ukrainian channels is Astra 4B at 5° east.

For me alot things are treasures: music, girls, WW2 relics, rare stuff, good drinks and having a great time!
Gorilka and peasant lard also always is very good!
The main problem is the snow and cold in winter or I would be already there.

I'm really interested in the Easy-Rad because it's technology is absolutly special and
its the best for cavities and fast large treasure-hunts over huge areas and for very deep stuff.
It is able to detect very special finds and in combination with the Makro DeepHunter or Racer
its unbeatable. btw. there exists now Mars Coils from Kiev for the Racer: http://www.marsmd.com/

Good luck with treasure-hunting and the Easy-Rad development over the winter-time!

Fine, but now we still don't know exactly from where the "russian" language was started!
And where are the treasure-spots on this map?!

If we see Russia as a land where 400 years ago almost everywhere still was wilderness
its clear that the language was "imported" from the more west and south and already
    much higher populated areas.

btw. Moscow at that time didn't even existed when Kiev already was huge
since hundreds of years. Wikipedia tells something about 1147 as the year when
Moscow became a small city but praehistorical finds are dated back to 5000 years ago.

btw. all the formerly YU republics incl. Bulgaria also speak some "russian or ukrainian dialect".
I know this because I have checked the same professionally out with the english language
that mostly originates from Germany, especially northern Germany.

Meanwhile for me it's clear that russian is a dialect of the old big country of Ukraine because
the Ukraine was there much more earlier.

And originally Russia belongs to Europe only and not to Asia!
The Ural-mountains are the true border and not the black sea
which means that also whole Turkey still is Europe and the
Elbrus is the highest mountain of Europe!

Of course we know that St. Petersburg and the baltic countries had a much higher
influence concerning the russian capital Moscow than Kiev over all the last hundreds of years.
Even Skandinavia like Finland had it. But of course also Kiev and other big cities at that
region have had there influence concerning the more north and eastern located lands.

And often the peoples mentality is much stronger influenced by the countries temperature,
what they can do for a living and how the landscape looks than from what races they origin!

Just look at the relaxed and life-enjoying mediterranean soul compared to the
often very seriously thinking or even a little bit depressed north-europeans.
You are the best example of them!

Anyway, everywhere can shine the sun and life can be enjoyable!
Especially in our modern and much more free times!
And the prettiest flowers (best girls) only grow on roughest stones!

The Ukraine (after Poland, CSSR, Romania and others) splitted up from Russia
because Western-Europe showed after WW2 that it works out better if people can have their free choice
instead "everything is planed for them by the leadership-class". Seen from "moral & character", communism was
much better for the people, they did not became that greedy for money etc. like its happening in the western world!
Capitalists sometimes behave the same as greedy, blinded and nature completly destroying gold-diggers!

Just some countries seems to need a dictator-system otherwise all different cultures there starts to fight each other.
Best example Irak and Yugoslavia - which even was at Middle-East-Europe. As long as Tito ruled, all lived peacefully
together there, but of course not good enough for everyone! But this is political and offtopic so I must end it here.

But I can tell you that I plan to develope a real fantastic large masses detection system which also is capable
for locating ultra-small stuff. The genious idea was so ridiculous simple - it's just a question of coil-distance ....
And Makro Group from Turkey may support me to realize it or even creates it - let yourself surprise.
