Thanks for the input.
I did not have a closer look into the GS4 yet but it sounds worth doing....

Looking for a microcontroller based MD where source code is available

Hello Frank.Originally posted by Frank_Schwab View PostHi all,
I'm a software guy so I'd like to build a microcontroller based MD as my next project (or one of the next ones:-).
One important requirement is that the source code of the detector is available. My plan is to play around with it and extend the design.
I know the PI designs in the ITMD book. These are one option.
There's also a version of Pickini (v2?) where the source code is available.
I'm sure that I've overlooked some. Can anyone recommend a particular design, preferable due to own experience?
And what performance can be expected (e.g. compared to a Baracuda or Surf PI)?
Thanks!
Frank
I was thinking the same.
Situation is not that "bright" , we have pretty narrow choice.
Carl and later Joop did interesting job on PI2 from ITMD.
Maybe there you can do something more?
Idea is pretty much straightforward, same mcu with same code may be used with slightly different and improved circuitry.
If second delay is invoked; the better. Ground channel can be added.
I would suggest you to take GS4 plan and PI2 and than try to put "2 and 2 " to get "5" from those.
It would be very interesting project.
