Here is another example of Nokta using people that really do not have what it takes to promote a machine. This is a low information video by one of the testers. This person probably doesn't realize how bad he really is and I kinda feel sorry for him as I do some of the other testers from Dankowski. When you pick testers from a group of inconsiderate people that were catered to by Dankowski forum they probably don't know how they look in the real world.

Great success! The find ratio at that iron-infested site was excellent!
And the battery life is OK:
Around 8h when its cold outside and ca. 10h if its warmer
is OK and easy to manage with just 1 reserve battery package.
Charging them takes around 2-3 hours.
There is no need to buy all the time expensive alkaline batteries
after getting 2 x 4 cells of good NiMH rechargeables (ca. 2500mA).
But the charger should load each of the cells separate, it's better!
No unwanted and batteries harming under- or overcharging.
That field test also makes understandable that it could be a disturbing

one digs out all the nice stuff in front of it's eyes!
I wouldn't need it because it feels like being the loser there!
Comparable with a beautiful girl that flirts with another person but not with me!
To prevent unneeded stress or making others sorry, it's better to search alone
at some regions! No jealousy or "wanna having something from the cake, too" involved!
Of course the next step will be to remain quiet about the finds because otherwise
again greed, evil, jealousy and "I want this, too"-concurrence thinking can occur.
Don't brag with your really interesting and precious finds or you might lose them!
Or your lucrative search areas will become occupied by others, too!
But as we have seen at the clip: No problem if your detector beats all others!

He may have found all those targets plus more if he would have used an ACE 250. In reality, we don't know, do we ?

The Impact seems to need a lot battery power.
For me this is no problem with a reserve pack of 2500mA NiMH accus
and they have not much weight.
But it would be good if one batch of fully and fresh charged batteries
will last at least for the whole day (4-10 hours) otherwise the recharging
would consume the double effort and instead of 4 someone needs to
have 8 1,2v cells as reserve.
Maybe in this case it would be better to modify the detector and use some LiPos.
The good news are:
The Nokta Impact's firmware is updatable by USB.
OK, the LCD-screen is no Dot-Matrix-screen or little computer monitor
so the new adjustable features are limited, but of course it still will be a
great way to offer depth- etc. improvements.
Also to fix any bugs. It might even be possible to connect the detector
with other wireless headphones besides the from Nokta available one.
And this way the detector also can work with coils which aren't on the market yet.
Per instance 70cm coils which of course are needed for the really deep stuff.
If the Nokta offers no 70cm coils, persons will buy instead the Nexus or a PI with 1m coil.
btw. Nokta and Makro have professional experiences with large coils so it would be
no problem for them to built one for the Nokta Impact.
And when the updated firmware can handle it, this is very good.
Perhaps it's also possible sometimes to plug a storage-card into the USB-port and play mp3 songs!
Wireless of course, because the wireless already is there! But this would be luxury and is not that
important - the main deal is that the detector comes clear with all kind of different ground-conditions
and offers a very good depth and a good signal-contrast ratio even if there is some electro-smog around.
Great - "The Hoover Boys" meanwhile shot the promised Nokta Impact field test video:
I haven't watched it yet but it's for sure interesting! Enjoy!
I can operate an ACE 250 for about 13 cents per 8 hour day by not using rechargeable batteries. When seeking treasure be careful not to spend more treasure than you find.

And what people are doing at parks has nothing to do with the model of detector they are using.
But we must consider that the person who shot that clip was concentrated at filming, too, and if he would have spent

For me the discussion is over here with you Kemper because your argumentation is the same stubborn as those of LRL-fanatics!
Simply unbearable!
Believe in your illusion that it never will be necessary to work with an other or better detector as the ACE250.
If you think you are able to compensate all the factors of success concerning treasure-hunting with this detector - have fun!

> "the quality of the detector is not a factor"
The quality of a detector always is a factor and 99,999% of all MD-users will agree, no matter if the detector is a bit more complex to use.
If the quality would be no factor, why don't you buy some ACE250 clone from China? Perhaps because it will be broken already after 1 week?!
And if you think you can scare away with your argumentation of: "countless configurations or extraordinary amount of time etc." those who
are happy about all kind of depth-, adjustment- and features-improvements you're wrong because the most welcome them and can handle
them easily. Or they really need these improved or even new options because they wanna find stuff that you and your ACE250 NEVEREVER
will find! For me this is trolling here or trying to provoke others out of fun because these are no realistic arguments at all.
Instead of being happy that someone tries to open your eyes you prefer to dwell inside of dreams and illusions!
But who cares - The less you are finding - the more others can find!
The sky is the limit and if you prefer to dig 10'' deep coins with the ACE250 - enjoy it!
" Believe in your illusion that it never will be necessary to work with an other or better detector as the ACE250.

"
I never said that so you are putting words in my mouth.
> "the quality of the detector is not a factor"
Again, I never said that. In context, I said - The detector is only as good as the operator. If the operator does not have the right setting and knows how to interpret that setting, the quality of the detector is not a factor.
I am open to and can see other people's points. They should be open and not think their way is the only way to achieve better success than someone who spends their time going a different route.
As to your assertion - " But we must consider that the person who shot that clip was concentrated at filming, too, and if he would have spent
too much time with opening and closing digging-holes carefully his viewers would have started to complain. "
That seems to speak of your opinion of priority here in the U. S. If they can't or won't learn to test detectors while preserving the parks for real hunting, I think they do more harm than good for the hobby. They may not be capable of taking care of the park. Let's not assume and call people trolls for bringing attention to what a video shows.

I love these MD-packages with gold-coins and treasure-chests printed on them
because this suggests that someone soon will be a famous millionaire,
it comes with the flair of adventure - similar if kids wanna become an astronaut.
Seen from the technical aspect it depends on the location and if the
detector fits the needed abilities. Many treasures are still too deep to find,
they are buried 3 meters below debris if it comes to old destroyed towns
and this is out of reach for a 30 or 40cm coil.
Another main treasure of course is "enjoying the gamble" and walking through
nature. This is the archaic collectors- and hunters-aspect. Or: "typically male".
Simply spoken: Having a good time with the detector already is finding a treasure, too.
Not to forget there is business and competition involved:
Every MD-producer wanna be the best one!
This is also motivating for the life of all the involved persons,
comparable when architects etc. are building the highest tower.
Striving for records or something where someone can be proud of.
And there is no doubt about it that Makro-Nokta really made a good job so far
with innovative ideas and always with enthusiasm. This is also because Turkey
is in the middle of old culture (first Electrum coins from Lydia etc.) and someone
can find really precious treasures in Turkey.
Of course the depth- and features-differences meanwhile are not that large and
with some luck somebody with an ACE150 for 200 bucks also will find nice stuff
but of course its more clever to use a good detector than some cheap one.
I doubt that ivconic would have found his "new" coins with an ACE150.
In the end it's a mixture of all kind of motivations, features, luck, personal experience,
and of course also hard work etc. which decides how successful the hunt for treasures
will become. It's even a question of fate at what location somebody was born or lives.
The better the detector the higher the chances and the newest, most powerful, shiny and
bright detector will raise the motivation because this is the exciting new toy!

But spending each year 1000 bucks or more could become a little bit too expensive!
Every 2 or 3 years is OK for people who can afford it because other persons spent much
more for their hobbies and often they have not the chance to get a "return of investment".
The best of course would be if someone who buys for the first time a metal-detector directly
wants to have something professional like the Nokta Impact because this way he can work
already from the start with "maximum power" and this detector is not so complicated to use.
If someone starts with a cheap detector it might be fun for a while but also the frustration
could start pretty fast. But this is for persons who know what they really like and not for
kids who throw every toy after a few hours into the corner. And the problem with a cheap
detector also is that it's not useful to "check out" if the region is lucrative because it might
not find enough evidence so someone could be sure!
" The better the detector the higher the chances and the newest, most powerful, shiny and

As highlighted, no, that is not automatic. The detector is only as good as the operator. If the operator does not have the right setting and knows how to interpret that setting, the quality of the detector is not a factor. If the quality of the detector is only evident by using the detector in countless configurations, that will take an extraordinary amount of time. The newest, most powerful and shiniest detector may raise the motivation of some. The motivation of some is to play with their detector. The motivation of others is to actually detect. You can do both but you have a better chance of being a successful finder of targets when you spend your time detecting and not playing with a machine. I'm glad some people are working on and playing with machines as that can benefit the hobby. I just wish they would keep their *** out of the parks till they get ready to actually detect.

I am not quite familiar with subject of that lawsuit but i assume Minelab patented connectivity with smart phone?Originally posted by Carl-NC View PostThey must be feeling confident about the Minelab lawsuit.
How could it be? How can someone patent such thing and prevent others to do something similar?
Here is how i see things; there is smart phone, there is metal detector (any other device also) and there is BT kind of radio communication.
So? BT is there to connect various devices with each other. How is possible anybody to patent that and prevent others to do the same?
If that is the case; than of course they will be pretty confident about Minelab lawsuit. Wouldn't you?
Because such lawsuit would be total nonsense.
But, considering the world we are living in...

you REALLY would insult the pride of the engineers from Makro and Nokta with such a statement!

Do me this favor!
Of course there are meanwhile many similarities between Teknetics, Garrett, Fisher, XP etc.
but the look of metal-detectors and what features they should offer are limited.
And comparing the Impact with the Deus is a no-go because the Deus merely is some
smartphone connected to a coil! And if XP would have been really clever they would
have created some Android, iOS or Windows app which runs on every modern smartphone!

I just visited XP site and downloaded new V4 update.
Actually they announced connectivity with smart phones with this update.
Application for smart phones will be available soon... so they say.
