I was thinking about this some more today, we could add another channel with a different tone or maybe even a vco.
the vco could give audio choices, or another tone channel and we could add on one of the vdi projects, since it has a mono output converting the audio stage to left and right means one tone in left and another in the right.
if the basic design is stable and simple as it seems to be, it could be a good tinkering project.
the machine itself is ok, i serviced two for a customer (batteries left in and leaked, and the ears on the coil were cracked on the other).
the cracked ears were due to an over zealous tightening and not weakness, but they worked really well for what they were.
i am going to start an internet hunt to see if i can find one in good order, so we shall see.

Of all the VLF machines I've used over the past 20 years I've never had one (besides the TDI) that changing the ground balance changes the audio tone of a nickel.

Can you post some PCB pics, or a test video? This machine looks interesting.

Gives a little information, but there is not a threshold him. There is not an adjusting pot on the board of any kind.
Still interesting to say the least.
Been testing all my machines and the White's SL is on top all the time with the deepest Virginia targets.
