Microprocessors are the future
Looking at various designs using PIC micro's and Arduino's but they are all lacking.. I was thinking of a new design and it would be ideal to have re-useable modules. Obviously the micro has to control the display and depending on the design it can control just about everything else. Most microprocessors do not have the speed required but I believe I have found the ideal candidate. If you watch this video you will also see that, although it is about audio, it does cover almost every aspect of a good metal detector.

In my opinion microcontroller in the Vlf-world are only good for good stable Id-numbers and some filtering in ground or multifrequency (Fbs,Bbs and so on). For good seperation and speed and when you dont need a display..... i think "analog" detectors are the best;-). -

I think russians not want to make big money with every little invention and have fun in sharing improvements with other enthusiasts. Russians are very good inventors and very good in improvising;-). You should be proud of it;-)Comment

Interesting..design...I have seen it before but the actual construction put me off. Maybe it is better than it looks and I will have a closer look.
I'm playing with a 32mhz PIC just now but I'm no expert.
The Arduino's a re a bit slow but the teensie takes speeds to new levels.

hmmm.... thats only school alias given to me by classmates. so it is very old. i had visited electronics section
of school and was a radioamateur. so it is not mine and yup... this is soviet kt315 NPN transistor, legendary one.Comment
