STM32F7- A very popular STM used for Racing/Aerobatic Quadcoper Flight controllers. I have a few of these FC boards so might be able to use one as an experimental Detector processor.

Github is great for teamwork on a software project.

This could actually go somewhere--getting excited.

Please keep sharing your work, my advice, just enjoy what you do, stay focused and forget the trolls.

Without seeing schematic, my initial comments are;

The STM32 should have more than enough grunt to drive LCD
The 3.5mm jack will get a lot of abuse so placement direction and quality of part is paramount.

The project is currently using the PWD13F60 one hell of a chip. yes I'm a stm fan boy

And the graphic controller is the ft812 connected to the stm32f7 via quad spi.
Just leaves the stm to do the real work and enables builders to use different LCD screens.

Interesting driver for sure and yes, I can sort of tell you are an STM fan lol, have you tried to drive a search coil and checked turn on / off times with the PWD13F60?

I would be interested in seeing the TX waveform.

Fair enough, so it looks like you are trying to pack in the goodies then.
So is the board going to contain the analog front end or are you planning to have this separate?
Just trying to get a handle on your design.

Sorry another question.
Which STM32F7 version are you planning on using? I cant see any with more than 512 bytes RAM, so unless you are going to use external RAM you might be pushing limits when it comes to digital filtering or other DSP functions.

I might purchase a PWD13F60 evaluation board to check out it's capabilities.

My god, the STM32F7 has enough horsepower to run a PI detector, a color graphics display, a few VLF detectors on the side, and look for extraterrestrial life in its spare time. At First Texas just about all our new platforms are on STM32 micros; I used the L072 in the new pinpointer, using an L496 in a walk-through design, and the F767 in a new multi-freq platform. The F767 is way overkill for the multi-freq but we decided, "Why the heck not? Let's have some fun."

Started with STM32F765 but currently looking at the STM32H743 in 100pin.
2 Mbytes of flash and 1 Mbytes of ram.

Yep, I can see the H series have plenty of RAM but the F7 that was quoted by gtdavid earlier didn't hence the question of RAM.

Yep your right the ram could be an issue and the h7 would solve that and costs about the same..
AND
there is also 2 opamps on these chips might be worth a look at using them instead of external components on the rx

Yeah, well, that will teach me for looking at quick comparison charts from C compiler of all F7 series listed, someone left of the K in RAM lol ...derrr thought something didn't look right lol
