American Radio History is a phenomenal resource. I've bought some of their DVD collections off eBay, downloaded a bunch of other stuff.

My book is in that archive site as well (without my approval). Someone did a pdf of it that is even better than the one I was printing it with. Once someone makes such a copy there is no stopping it. A major part of writing a book is enjoying the monthly checks for doing so. Lose that and you lose a lot of motivation for writing one again.

I have seen it on a couple others as well. I had it taken down from one but I think the other is someone’s personal site so it is likely still up.
My problem was that the book was typewritten and published before computers. I wanted to do an Amazon friendly version of it but it doesn’t OCR well so lots of work. Gave up. Easier and more fun to do a new one, but I’m not anxious to do it. If someone wants to learn electronics, building a music synth is a good project. It didn’t cover the details of metal detectors though, which is why I enjoy this site.

I also see on the radio history site there is "Radio & Electronics World", a quality publication by the distributor Ambit International. It was originally called Ambit Magazine. It's projects weren't all Radio-Amateur stuff. I have a number of them in printed form.

Having written a book myself, put out an e-PDF because people wanted that format, and then saw it placed on a pirate web site for free, I'm a little sensitive to this issue. If you want a book, buy it and give the people who put all the work into it their fair share.

What was the name of the book? Is it still in print so I can buy legal copy for my collection? Thanks.

The excellent 'World Radio History' archive have just added a large number of 'special edition' compilations published by ETI ( Electronics Today International) magazine. Included is a compilation of MD projects, " How to build gold and treasure detectors" , which includes the ETI-566 two-box machine.

News: Removal of Elektor ( English edition ) from Worldradiohistory.
"We have been asked by the publisher to remove this title. ...They prefer to only make the issues available on their own site. As always, we respect changing attitudes in this regard."
It's hard to work out which specific magazines have been removed. The French and Italian editions are still listed, but not any English ones.

Elektor can still be found in other locations on the web. Archive.org have a random selection, including the compilation books, like '301 circuits' .

I had a hunch that World Radio History probably still had Elektor scans on their site, they just disabled the links or something.
Sure enough, the searchable individual page scans are there, just hard to find.... but I found 'em!
