If you do a web search on Low Impedance Pickup Research you will see my thread on the Music Electronics Forum. It is on the Pickup Makers sub forum and has been adjusted by a sticky to be the first subject on the sub forum by the moderator as having the highest read statistics.

Inductance applies to metal detector coils coils as well as guitar pickups. We both see how metal detection a music interact.

See my article on this forum in the projects section about Making a Fast Mono Coil.

Thanks for the great comments on the book. Last I looked into selling the book on Amazon, I would have to go through one or more format conversions and the book was old-school typewritten, so OCR would have to be performed and then format conversion. The OCR I tried was like 75% accurate, then I’d have to redo the chapter headers etc and redraw all the schematics and resize them etc. A lot of work. I had a guy offer to do it for a portion of the sales but he didn’t get far before stopping. Then all these sites sprung up with better pdf copies than even I had, for free.
It is amazing that many of the ICs went obsolete but are now being made again - some with even better specs. Eurorack synths are super hot right now, many people making an income off their module designs. I just kind of follow the hobby now. My hands on (hobby) work has been repairing old synths and metal detectors. Check Gearslutz.com for a fun challenge I had discovering why A6 Andromedas were dying.

Since you're into this stuff, maybe you know where I might be able to score one of these.

I listened to a sample of the sound generated by the chord egg, very impressive.
