Yes, very good observation KT315. your powers of observation and retention are akin to the fictional Sherlock Holmes.
Now I'll be your trusty sidekick, Dr. Watson. Here is one Detector pro PCB photo that was posted to the forum on another thread. Notice very similar circuit design. Looks very familiar, doesn't it? I back engineered this one and ended up tracing out the circuit for it. It's a bare bones Cscope CS6 PI circuit. DIP4 mosfet package clearly visible on the right.

thank you DB. i am glad you did appreciate my abilities. i also have pics of GOLDQUEST SS and it is same pcb that in AQUASEARH.
if you did read my posting earlier i had wrote that if i will repeat Cscope i cover all Eric's '1mH coil' projects.
i too hope Clive will help us in that. if this board was in my hands all components were been desoldered and measured, but i know
those people very fear touch any things around (thats sure right although).

I will do the picture but have a feeling that the answers will be a few hat sizes up.

Edited out original reference to cd4017. I was really thinking cd4066 but don?t see one so agree the discrete FET might be bad.
