Detectron 505-T Pipe & Cable Locator (2-box)

Does anyone have any experiences with 2-box locator called
"Detectron 505-T Pipe & Cable Locator" by Tinker and Rasor?

Just bought one used unit with 99 euros.
Unit looks very much like this one but it's older (1978 according to sticker)

Seller claimed that it would detect something from 10 meter.

Unit has also input for "Precision depth probe"..
Like this..(?)

How can that probe be constructed..?

Is there any difference between treasure hunting and pipe locating 2-box detector? meaning.. Is the unit usable for both purposes?

Transmitter unit has switch "Signal Identifier ON/OFF"?
Didn't find description for that.

hello, i am some experience whit detectron metal detector
one woman friend had one these
these detector have funest and adverse sensitivity for detection in houses, the signal of detector strike return defectuos in cornes and walls of construction whit false signals
whit power sensitivity only in test air, and quarter of these signal in depth in soil. only for pipes is ok,in direct conection for cable or wire, maybe if effective in outdoors in plane and neutral soils whitout mineralization
you extreme sensitivity is not one adventaje for regular metal detection
the hig frecuency what obtain whit complex circuits on ics, have extreme umbral perjuicious for normal detection
one change in circuits whit others most stable ic maybe in major operations
is one detector specific for pipes and tubes detection, is of build fine in one design heavy duty and pretty
the normal operation for hunt in out plane soils nedd of one expert

I work at Tinker & Rasor. I started working here at the time your locator was built (Aug. 197. I will do some digging to find a schematic for you, I will need the serial number from the unit. If you cannot find it on the outside of the yellow box, try looking inside the unit.

We are no longer in the TH business, we stick to the "industrial" side of things now. I found this site while running a historical search of our website traffic.

these detector hunt hot rocks",is very erratic, are bad, is one machine very sensitive, in extreme, only efective in neutral soil, i not recomiendo for yours
i had one pufffff

is one erratic detector on hot rocks of mountain an soils alcalines
very bad detector
is ok only in normal soils
