These new waveform images show the 'problems' associated with analysing/evaluating a software-updatable machine. None of these waveforms were seen on the original D2 release. As a result, any chat about what the D2 can & cannot do become rather irrelevant, unless the exact software version is specified ... and that's on top of what mode/what settings/ what adjustments etc have been put into it.
( it also makes me wonder if the same issue can/could affect machines such as the ML Manticore ... it could easily be made to offer all sorts of frequency mixes/blends, within its fairly wide freq capability range )

Not clear what you are saying. The D2 is a fantastic machine and I can say for fact it has found a lot of nice silver behind both the Manticore and the Equinox 800 of which I’ve personally used.


How many different software version has the D2 had?

Mine is V.2




All I am posting is what I’ve been able to see, nothing more.

As for version numbers XP stated the upgrade to V.2 was to fix filter issues. Iron falsing, etc.

Can’t imagine they would attempt changing all the transmit frequencies too.

I will say that while in freq max 14 that there is no change in either frequency or amplitude between all the preset programs.

Example:

General freq max 14 all the way through to the last program while freq max is selected to 14 there is no difference in the frequencies being transmitted. They all look the same and no difference in any of the 20+ measurements the scope monitors.

The Deus 2 has waveforms quite different than other MF designs and I find them interesting. Mark, do me a favor and post a scope screen that shows 1 full period of the waveform and with it filling the screen vertically.

Immediately after the publication of the first oscillograms of DEUS 2 -https://www.geotech1.com/forums/forum/technology/tech-forum/16779-deus-ii-about-the-oscillogram/page2 it seems that its base platform is designed with a perspective - similar to the GSM communication standard. there will be more interesting oscillograms in the future. And new, advanced signal processing software. children quickly tire of new toys. So we have to buy them brand new toys...

That's fine. A key to figuring out how this works are the offsets near the zero-crossing. It doesn't look like any of them are actually zero and even the polarities look backwards to me, so I'm not sure what's going on. A sure-fire way to figure it out is to use a current-mode field probe.

Reduced the damping resistor from 1k to 500 ohms. Greatly improved the stability. May have to experiment with even lower values.
I had an op amp UA741 but it is very old. Tried it with a 100 ohm resistor but results were not promising. Not even sure if the amp would meet my requirements yet. Still need to research a bit more.

Oscillogram from #7 Yesterday, 08:36 PM - starting from left to right :
1. immediately after the negative pulse (starts from 0 and ends at 0.5 divisions along the time axis) the current through the coil is constant in the section from 0.5 to 1.5 divisions along the time axis
2.section 1.5 to 1.78 to divisions along the time axis, the current through the coil increases linearly;
3. section 1.78 to 2.2 divisions along the time axis, the current through the coil is again constant, but higher than this 0.5 to 1.5 divisions;
4. section 2.2 to 2.8 divisions on the time axis the current through the coil decreases linearly and crosses the zero axis
5. section 2.8 to 3.78 divisions along the time axis, the current through the coil is again constant, but flows in the opposite direction (negative)
6. section 3.78 to 4 divisions on the time axis the current through the coil increases linearly and becomes increasingly ``negative''
7. section 4 to 4.42 divisions on the time axis, the current through the coil is constant, but greater than that in section 2.8 to 3.78 divisions
8. section 4.42 to 5 divisions along the time axis the current through the coil increases linearly (ramp), crosses the zero axis and from 5 to 6 divisions along the time axis is again constant and the same value as that in the section 0.5 to 1, 5 divisions . in the sections when the current through the coil is constant, the coil is given a "short circuit" (works as a closed loop). this is
the system works with 2 levels of constant current through the coil (2 levels in one direction and 2 levels in the opposite direction) – a bipolar CCPI system with two levels of current and linear ramps

Of course, and it makes you wonder what else is to come, maybe V3 software may change things again.
I can't answer the Q "how many software versions are there?" , as I don't use the D2, I recall it stayed on V0.xxx for a long time, people were thinking they were being 'Beta testers' for an undeveloped product. "When are they going to ever get to V 1.xx ?"

Presumably it's possible to install older software versions ( for a while, anyway ) , but that's a tedious job, re-loading various versions, just to see what's different or not. best avoided, I think..

For info, it appears the software versions released are : V0.3; V0.6; V0.70; V0.71; V1.0; V1.1; V2.0
I don't think V0.3 is available anymore, nor is V0.70, which was quickly bug-fixed into V0.71.
