A friend sent me this link today, but what I saw is that they omiited one letter by mistake:
( a deal was to be "BE IVCONIC" btw)

I believe that if they don't fix this mistake urgently; we will end up in court!
    ...
    BTW... here is the video:

Humor aside, I don't know what it's about, but I have a few things running through my head.
First; I really like the design of the detector box (remote?) this time.
It's no longer a "smartphone" stuck up on a... STICK! (I mean a shaft)
It's now something that truly looks like a metal detector.
Second, it seems to me that the "holes" for the connectors are now in very convenient and logical locations, on the side and not behind.
One of the really bad things about Deus 2 that really annoyed me; is that totally pointless (whatever they justify as the reason) connector for charging and headphones.
And finally; I sincerely hope that this "rocket" in the video is really much better organized than Deus 2.
With great expectations I bought Deus 2 last fall, I experienced a cold shower and a big shock with huge flaws...
and then I sold it as quickly as possible; so that I don't lose money on rapid price reductions.
XP again made all gullible customers "donkeys"! The same as when, after the very successful Deus 1, they lowered the prices and then offered the ORX.
Deus 2 appeared in Serbia at prices of 1600e, so after a few months the price dropped to 1400e, I got it for 1200e...
I barely sold it for a little less than that... and already today on local ads you can find a used one, only a few months old (under warranty) with a price below 1000e.
This situation makes all of us loyal XP detector "fans" - hard arses, right!?
If the "rocket" from the video is a similar marketing manipulation as was the ORX... you can guess what I would write here... but I won't because I don't want to make Carl angry!
My plan is to patiently wait for a sufficient number of shearing sheep to hurry up and buy that "rocket", for one of them to come to me for a test... and only then will I know the real truth.
        ...

Don't get the impression that I'm trying to favor ML or anyone else with this, that's not the case!
I would like to direct a much worse barrage of criticism at ML...but I won't, I'm tired of criticizing them.
They are no longer my focus, I am not interested in them one bit.
Especially after such a cheap manipulation with the Chinese manufacturing quality of some models and especially with the manipulations with the Vanqish series!

        P.S.
I understand this forum as the only place on the net where people can be informed in time and possibly save themselves from unnecessary waste of money... so this topic of mine is mostly in that direction.

          I'm too negative sometimes.
Let's sum this all up in a slightly positive way.
          1) Detector box design, from 1 to 10 - a pure 10! I really like it.
          2) Connectors in the right place, from 1-10 - a pure 10! Hat down!
          3) Shaft, stem, whatever you call it, from 1-10 - a pure 10! It was always excellent anyway.
          4) Coil desing, from 1-10 - a pure 10! It was always excellent anyway.
          5) What's inside, what kind of performance? Intrigue! We'll see.
          6) The name, "Iconic"? The letter "v" after the first "I" is missing, from 1-10 - I'll give it a pass, say 6!
Deus 2 was somewhat disappointing, not so much in terms of performance - as in terribly unpleasant design solutions.

Many options, too many settings, small often insignificant differences in parameters.
You really need to memorize the entire manual to get by.
Detector is not for me to play text video games; but to quickly and efficiently find a valuable find.

Ok, they were targeting the "water sports" market, I get it.
But the charging connector on the Deus 2 is something that constantly freaked me out!
Let's just say I'm pleasantly surprised with what I see on the video.
Until I see for myself what the performance is like.
Am I a potential buyer of this? 99% I am, but not in the first rush.
          ...

BTW... are there any live people on the forum?

To spice up this topic at the end, to this day I have friends in the company who spend an average of 6 hours setting options on Deus 2 and 1-2 hours of effective searching during the day!
Youtube has practically blossomed since the appearance of Deus 2!
XP should demand serious royalties from Youtube owners!

Let's (naively) hope that the situation will be reversed with Icon!

              Thanks for sharing this video!
This is looking really good and I am quite interested.
2 years ago I bought a second hand Deus2 for a little over 500 euros with the minimalistic WS6 master headphone configuration.
This was a major improvement over the heavy Vallon VMH3CS that I used to swing on the beach.
With the different beach modes and multi frequency, it has become my favorite detector of all time so far.
The "puck" is hanging around my neck with high quality fixed headphones.
I never watch the VDI - sound only.
And now that I am getting older, the light weight is a key property of the Deus2.
Not sure why you don't like the charging connector - I assume you mean the "clamp" connector on the coil?
With a full charge I can go searching for a couple of days.

No, I actually meant the charging connector on the Deus 2 remote.
                "Machine", "remote control", "detector".
I don't know what to call it, because part of the detector is in the coil and part is in that "box".
On the back there is a multi-pin connector which is small, seems very gentle.
Whenever I wanted to charge it; I had problems with "easy" plugging in of the connector and I was afraid of breaking and ruining something.
In that case, the service would be very expensive.
When you plug in the charging connector; it's so awkward that the "remote" can't even stand straight on the table.
And I also had "bone" headphones that worked fantastically.
But connecting those headphones to the "remote" is just as inconvenient.
                The horror.
A large part of the reason I sold Deus 2 is for the above reasons.
And of course; I noticed a rapid price reduction, and I paid 1200e for it.
After a few months, the price has already dropped by 200e.
That's a huge waste of money.
I have too many detectors in my collection, one such awkward detector that keeps losing value; I don't need it.

Do you believe; if they would change some things on the Deus 2 remote; I would buy it again.
                  Performance is pretty good.
They're not drastically better than Deus 1 though (I'm talking about essential performance, not "makeup").
But until they fix those flaws on Deus 2 (of course they never will); Deus 2 is a thing of the past for me.
Ok, now we have that new "Icon". I am very interested to see the performance.

I have been hearing impaired since 2009, I had a severe ear injury.
I pierced my ear, my eardrum and came within 3mm of my brain!
(Maybe that's why I'm this crazy? Who knows!)
And that's why I can't use regular wireless headphones.
But that's why "bone" headphones are ideal for me.
And the XP "bone" headphones are the best thing I've seen so far.
But that awkward connector ruined everything.

                        Yes, it probably is.
And the ORX was initially announced as a "mid-range" detector, but it is quite close to the Deus 1 in terms of performance.
I have several friends in the company who have had ORX for a long time and have not the slightest intention of changing it.
I hope Icon will be the same to Deus 2 - what ORX is to Deus 1.
Deus 2 did not particularly excite me in any way, although it is a very good detector.
But let's just say I'm pretty spoiled with Deus 1 which I've had since 2012 and as such I expected a lot more from Deus 2.
However, there is one option (related to MF) which is B.Caps, which has proven to be fantastic.
Deus 1, Silencer at 3 or 4, quite successfully "recognizes" bottle caps. But not completely.
Deus 2 in MF program with B.Caps does it much better.
Ok, this is primarily because it is a MF program.
The multi-frequency mode of operation is superior here.
However, the "depths" are not like those of the "mono" program.
Ideally, Icon would be a sublimation of all the good and necessary features of Deus 2.
But we can't know that until the first units are distributed among colleagues.
In my own way, through humor, I tried to point out important things that interest me.
I hope someone from XP reads this forum and learns some lessons.
If the situation is different; all their autism will work against them.
                        ...
And now I'm going to be rude again. I don't care who will think what about what I will write.
ML fools have so far shown themselves to be quite autistic. They did everything against the suggestions of many colleagues.
I'm not only knowledgeable about things that happen on this forum.
I am everywhere and in all places where it is relevant to be. I just don't show who I am.
ML are total fools, autistic self-indulgent mastur-bators. So far, they have managed to deceive a large number of naive customers.
But it is a short-lived marketing policy. I'm not the only one who totally and definitely deleted them from the list of existence.
I hope they are smarter in XP. We'll see.

                            So was ML lying?
                            No!
                            And yes!
It depends on how one understands the story.
This is not directed directly against ML (though I don't mind either way) .
This is just very useful to explain some things in a simpler way.
On the technical side, ML did not lie.
On the marketing side, some people who promote ML (under the auspices of ML) tended to point out some bold marketing statements that are not true.
If we transfer this state to XP; unfortunately we will see a similar marketing strategy.
A couple of things can be seen from the video.
But first of all, we should emphasize two simple expressions that run through the video and that do not catch the eye so easily.
                            1) "Best case scenario..."
                            2) "Real situation on soil..."
They are two completely different worlds.
And the most important thing on video, of the greatest value; is a short and clear elaboration about S/N.
The thing that has to be acknowledged to ML and XP is that they recognized the problem and that this is clearly visible in their MF machines.
But, unfortunately, the gains in real field conditions are very small.
They are so small that they cannot possibly justify the prices of those detectors.
                            50%... of anything!?
                            Ha,ha,ha!
0.5% gain is actually a realistic situation on real ancient terrains with a compromise loss of depth!
Is it a gain that should be paid 1000, 1500, even 2000 euros?

There is something that constantly bothers me here on the forum on many topics, but also on video content of this type.
And that is the identification of the terms "S/N" and "EMI".
Few people on the forum will understand this big mistake; who does not have a long-term amateur radio background.
"S/N" and "EMI" may or may not be related.
In the world of metal detectors, on terrains that are in remote and inaccessible locations, far from cities, settlements and "civilization"; these are two totally separate problems.
Maybe because English is not my primary language; I don't quite understand the use of these two terms in our forum stories.
The video I provided above is pretty good, but at one point the narrator just mixes up the two terms and equates them.
On forums, S/N (Signal-to-Noise ratio) is the desired target signal versus ground background noise; higher means better depth.
EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) is external electrical noise from power lines or other detectors.
People confuse them because both cause "noise" or chatter, but "S/N" is a performance ratio of the detector itself, while "EMI" is
an external disturbance you fix by lowering sensitivity or changing frequency or introduce better filtering.
Common confusion on forums is that people call any noise "EMI," but "S/N" is a ratio describing readability, while "EMI" is the specific external source causing the noise floor to rise.
In MF detectors, this is mitigated by sequential frequency changes and therefore MF detectors have better immunity.
But a mere change in frequency would not be enough.
(Also, not all types of targets have the same response at different frequencies.)

                              Filters are also needed.
Part of the filtering is in the design of the coils, part in the frontends, and finally a very important part is in the DSP.
The fight against "EMI" and striving for the best possible "S/N" have the same goal, but they are often logically opposed.
Fighting "EMI" (lowering Sensitivity or using Frequency Shift), yes, it reduces depth.

Because lowering sensitivity quiets the noise but also weakens the target signal.
                              You trade depth for stability.
Focusing on "S/N" and improving "S/N" actually increases usable depth.
A high "S/N" means the target "pops" out of the noise.
If you have low "EMI", you can run higher sensitivity = more depth.
Fighting "EMI" often reduces raw depth, period!
But a stable detector with good "S/N" finds deeper targets than a noisy one.
A chatty, "EMI filled" detector hides deep and tiny targets completely.
Kind a paradox in logical thinking.
That's why it's important to mention these differences, because I've noticed that the two terms are often used incorrectly here on the forum.
And I "caught" the same mistake on the video.

I'm not too smart about metal detectors, there are many smarter people on the forum than me.
But I simply applied my HAM experiences to the topic of metal detectors, and it became clear to me in rough outline what metal detector technology must follow.
