One can use WDC or other old harddiscs already they are wired up, remove the pcb and use it, they have ucontroller, ram etc, if u find difficult to change and use mobiles for radars or soanrs or PI...or use a working old CD player PCB...

Also uPC can be used for data acquisition...But who will understand all those about hd controller board? I am lost at first view...

Dont throw the old HDD...
instead of building a pcb and soldering a new micro etc etc on to a new PI board...use the electronics on the HDD drive disasembling the Hdd, rewrite the software, use a 10 inch coil and mosfet Tx, lets not throw the old electronics into store room, lets reuse them....dont be worried of the complexity see the data sheets they are easyOriginally posted by ivconic View PostComment
