You are located in Albania, right? Pretty simillar type of soil as here at my country. So...i do not suggest you to buy any Lorenz to work with there.
Simply Lorenz and PSII are already very well tested here and showed as very unstabile..producing a lot of falses on such kind of soils (medium and highly mineralized). Since you want to spend descent sum of money for device, than i can suggest you to buy OKM Gems or even better Rover Deluxe....but with supersensor and additional 3D software! Pay attention on this! Without supersensor and additional 3D software, you wont be satisfied much with those.

about your decision to buy a detector I don't know how much would you like expense there. first what are your expectances?
what do you want to search for(target kind and size) and what is your searching area stretch?
i.e. you want search an area blindly, you need to search very quick a vast area, what is dimension of that area? or not you are suspect to a limit place? mineralization rate, ground surface or terrain type .......
these change your choice.

He is right in some aspects.
I personally have Rover C and have a friend who have used most of OKM products; Rover C, Rover Deluxe, 2005,I-160 and both exp series even with their VLF senders and also used supersensor albeit he's had some noticeable successes(which I put in this forum pdf file of his experience see here : http://thunting.com/geotech/forums/s...ad.php?t=11939).

but for many of limitations in operatory he at last also prepared a Lorenz deepmax X3. he checks lorenze found signals with OKm products then lowers the possibility of empty hole near 0. he is very joyous of his Lorenz.
supersensor only raises resolution for better discernment so a little increase chance to identify small or moderate size target which may lose with standard sensor.
working with these kind of detectors needs to a strong nerve they break operator bones. it's not as easy as what being advertised. I also know other users of OKM products.
What I have heard is in such visual devices, the ones produced by Accuratelocators are highly better.
e.g. their "Runabout" prevails over the OKM exp series. maybe at future we prepare one "Imager".

About 6 years ago I bought the Rover from Accurate locators. As soon as I received the unit, I was informed that there is a major free hardware upgrade available but I must send the unit to the manufacturer (OKM) in Germany in order to have that done. Accurate locators should have informed their clients about this before purchase. Of course, knowing that people wouldn't buy the unit, they decided to be sneaky. I asked them to send the unit in for the upgrade at my expense but they told me that it is my own responsibility to do so. I send the unit via FEDEX (from USA) and called OKM to inform them. Two weeks past and got no word from them. I called and was told that the unit was still in FEDEX, pending customs clearance. After three more weeks and numerous phone calls to FEDEX and OKM, the unit was released to them and upgraded. I got it back in almost two months.
The device was taken to Greece but it did not operate as advertised. There is no way it can get an accurate image of the ground scanned. You had to walk in a straight line and click a button on every step. I practiced for hours but was never able to get a consistent image. Three months later it was taken back to USA. I did a little research on those type of units and found out that OKM devices or NOT real GPR. All their claims are bogus. I sold it for half of what I paid for it originally.
So, I would never buy anything made by OKM and also I would be extremely careful buying anything from Accurate locators. You may buy a unit and then they will probably tell you that you have to, personally, take it to... China for updates, lol.

OKM Rover with super sensor and 3D software cost approx. 14000e.
Your story just justify my previous words; it is not that good with ordinary sensor and 2D software.I agree on that.

I dont about mineralization. What I am looking for is buried gold. Like coins or gold bar (i mean pure gold). at depth of 2-3 meters or lower. target size it suspected to be 1 or more kg of gold.

I will search areas from 50 to 500 m2.

I dont want to spend as much as OKM prices.

My GPR is not suitable for buried gold.
I think have NOT in the world device that can to locate at depth of 2 meters , target 1 or several kg of gold.

For metal object better use PI metal detector.

GPR is suitable to locate subsurface heterogeneities, such a cavities, tunnels and other big objects. All GPRare excellent to survey on rocks, good on rather dry soils and useless on wet soils .The obtained information immediately appears on the laptop display. The GPR can find good, subsurface
cavities larges than 1metre x 1m x 1m, with an almost flat ceiling. Smaller objects will be found with difficulty and not so deeply.
With the GPR you will be able to detect cavities in rock with dimensions width Xm, length Xm, height Xm at a depths 2*Xm. As an example if a cave have width 2m, length 2m, height 2m and flat or oval ceiling, the GPR will can detect the cavities on depth 4m in rock.

The GPR can detect cavities in rather dry soil with dimensions width Xm, length Xm, height Xm on depth Xm. As an example if the
cave have width 2m, length 2m, height 2m and flat or oval ceiling, GPR will be able to detect the cave on depth 2m in soil.

When the soil is wet, the depth is smaller.
If the ceiling is not flat or oval, or is acute, the depth is smaller.

Isn't it better to buy pulse induction unit directly from Bulgaria? For much less money?

Berti, at 2-3 meters, with PI (any) you will never detect 1kg gold. Never.
So do not waste money on PI, you will regret very soon.

The Bulgarian unit is a pulse radar, the Deepmax X3 with data logger is not. It is like the GPRs made by OKM which to my opinion, they are bogus.

Robert, a ground loop (TDEM) like those used for geophysical exploration (depth sounding etc) may be worth thinking about.

Hi, then it doesn't deserve to invest money for it. let it remain at that place. and even want to invest, I highly hesitate can find it by existent devices in markets.
1 Kg gold is a bar with maximum 10 Cm x 5 Cm x 2 Cm dimension, not noticeable for detectors.
