from my personal experience... Ronin's thought about pottery/ceramics is absolutely right.
In many places, with many different layers of different civilizations/ages residual items THERE ARE bricks and pottery.... all kind of fired clay...ceramics and whatever will trigger false signals in your MD... no matter what it is will happen sooner or later... more or less.
With VLFs things are more "controllable" cause you have accurate geb and can overcome some (not all) magnetic signals from iron oxides and other magnetic crystals in soil and bricks etc
But man... beware of PIs , beware of two-boxes there....

You'll detect even aliens there... all kind of false signals will show and so frequently! It's truly disappointing digging 50 holes and found 50 pieces of ceramics and bricks inside!

I know... and that's why I don't use anymore PIs there...nor I use any two-boxes... I have many of these homemade MDs... but hanged on the wall of garage cause are useless in most GOOD places.

VLFs are the choice, unique I say.... for such places.
Then... belive what you want... belive you'll gain X cms depth more with PIs... yes, sure.... then try it really on that soils!

You'll be surprised.
I have MDs that detect a cigarettes box sized piece of brick at 50cm!

What do you think you'll dig all the day if soil is infested of these things and you have such a detector !?

Then buy nokta, I don't know about it, or whatever you want... but BEFORE test it on real soil...real DANG conditions...I warned you all.
Didn't I ?
Kind regards,
Max
