Wow, that's quite cool. It'd make a good science-fair project for the kids. It reminds me of some of the projects in the old electronics magazines that I have from the early 60's.

Love it! The modern day equivalent is the LED bar that moves (or is stationary and your eye moves) and paints a picture across your retina.

It also reminds me of the apparatus used to determine the speed of light, where where spinning mirrors showed a small deflection due to the delay in the light traveling.
