Carl thanks for replying, It is used in the Minipulse by Eric Foster, my friend has one that has quit working. The component is in a T092 package. It is paired together with another one. Going to start tracing out the circuit to try and troubleshoot it just not quite sure how this things completely works. I am a novice at this but it looks like the pcb is small enough for me not to get to overwhelmed. Any help appreciated.Originally posted by Carl-NC View PostWhat's it used in, and do you know what it might do?

RS components used to paint their own stock no. on IC's, over the top of the original manufacturers. Try cleaning the part with either the strongest solvent you can eg. cellulose paint thinners, paint cutting compound like T-cut, or use ultrafine abrasive paper eg 2000 grade silicon carbide to remove the paint and expose the original markings. I do have some old RS datasheets so I will have a look for them tomorrow.

I've so far not found any details on it. But products starting with 295- all seem to be transistors, not IC's. You could, if all else fails, remove the good device and determine it's basic characteristics and fit a general-purpose replacement to see if the detector has basic functionality.

No that is not my machine just a photo of the one you stated.
How do you know those Suspected Transistors are the Problem.
Do you know how to check transistors?
Determine if there PNP or NPN and just through a GP type in as stated.
If there set up as a Darlington set you may be able to replace with a single unite.
Any way you can post a photo of the board?
