  • Question about a Whites XLT and different generations of it.

I use a first gen XLT and have a custom program that I use for relic hunting. My two hunting buddies use the same program one in a second gen and one in a e series. The e series machine will run it for a few hours then it goes berserk all of a sudden and just won't work. The 2nd gen will work for a little longer then it screws up. My first gen can run all day with no problem. Also may be a coincidence but both machines have been sent back to service centers and have had board problems. Is it possible the program could do that.

2nd gen and E-series have identical code; difference with 1st gen I think was only a preset program setting. So, no, software is unlikely.

Carl is it possible to have the 2nd and e series coded like my first gen. These guys are going nuts when I'm hitting miniballs at a foot+ and they don't even get a whisper with the same program using the same coils and such. Is there something else that we should be looking for with these detectors other than finding a couple first gens to replace these two with?
