Can someone tell me the operating frequency of the Whites Prizm IV
    Thanks

    Hi
Its low 6.56khz, it runs on a untuned coil so easy project if you fancy making a coil. nice machine they were very underated by wanabe detectorists if you get my drift still got mine, have a conversion table I made somewhere here for uk currency, give me a buzz if you require it.

Older White's ran at 6.592kHz, not sure about Fisher. All Prizms run at 8.125kHz.

Maybe thats where I got cocked up then thinking of the older ones, when I got 5mins will measure inductance and resistance and post here on coils for fucture reference for everyone.
I am right saying its not a tuned search coil because you told me that ages ago, or have i got that wrong also.

I like whites detectors always have, still have the DFX as well with the factory coil, Great beach machine just lacks that bit of extra bump needed in are iron infested soils over here.
The prizm 1v picks out gold better than my minelab quattro considering twice the price quite disapointing, although for silver the quattro is the best detector I got.

                All the best Carl

You're right, they are untuned. TX=540 uH, RX=13.x uH, about the same as DFX coils.

I remember you telling me that inductions quite low isnt it, The prizm 1v uses the same plug as most of us are using on the TGSL but the DFX is a diffrent one.
Ages ago bought the 1400 coil for the DFX, still have it, was disapointed because it not only ruined the perfect balance of the DFX it also didnt perform as good as the factory coil with adjusting as many setting that there is on those about 50 odd or there abouts if i remember correctly.

Maybe would be worth changing the plug and try it on the prizm, what do you recon
O Carl while i remember alot of conflicting storys can I ask you for a stright answer is the modern coinmaster a prizm with a cheap looking housing or is it a downgraded version of the prizm because ive here difference storys from different dealers/people in the past.

I paid over £300 when I bought the prizm 1v and it was worth every penny, only machine ive ever bought brand new.

                    Regards

DFX coils are made a little differently, so if you swap the plug and use it on a Prizm the target ID won't be quite right.

The Coinmaster is exactly the same as a Prizm 3, just changed the color of the housing.

Thanks for the imformation Carl, when you say scale will be different dosent really matter much to me here then because the scale is displayed for usa $, and I can make a gb conversion table.
Do you know without any tweeking internally wether it will still disciminate between iron and silver because anything other than iron and nails I dig anyway.

                        Many thanks

As I recall, iron disc still works.

Is it possible to externally tune the coils on a coinmaster?
