Hey all, I'll get straight to it. I've got MPP issues.
I followed the guide, and everything was working as intended, testing each stage as per the guide, unit's completed but all I get a slow "click click click click click" from the thing, when i put a pair of pliers on the coil...

EMI Noise Reduction Design Ideas for PI Detectors
Along my journey to create the best PI machine using regular electronic components (i.e. no ADC's or microprocessors etc.), I have reached a point where my limiting factor to better sensitivity (SNR) is the need to eliminate/reduce EMI that is picked up by the search coil.
Does anyone have...

PI coil cable - triboelectric noise - problems - solutions?
I believe I have ran into a problem with triboelectric noise when testing my PI Pinpointer.
I have not found anything about triboelectric noise in cables on this forum. Odd.
Still in my ears: "make sure the cable to the coil doesnt move" - it will cause falsing....

Exchange field noise voltage at various locations
Hi, I'm new to prospecting & metal detecting, but I've designed a metal detector & built a few versions. I'm interested in exchanging field noise voltage density per m^2 (nV/√Hz/m^2) measurements at various locations? I don't have much so far, just a few locations out here in the noisy...

Not so DC waveform of minus 5 volt rail at the ne5534 - could this be cause of noise problems
I have a very jumpy threshold and am trying to hunt down where all the noise is coming from.
I found this rather odd waveform on Pin 4 of the ne5534. It should be -5 volts DC.
This funny signal only gets to the bypass caps (47uF+100nF) and 27Ohm resistor.
The -5v DC on the other...
