All 5? or the last one?

also the delay trim has a slight affect in terms of amplitude not relative time or position

and by calibrator signal you mean the scope signal?

OK, this still does not look right. Put delay at center rotation.
Ch1 on 40106 pin 8 for all images, trigger off channel 1.
Take the following 5 images, include ch1 and 2 in each image at 50uS
pin 12, 2, 6, 4 then take one more shot of the last setting at 200 uS/ div.
Unless the sampling is working properly nothing also will get you max depth.

What headphones do you suggest guys?
    Hi Impulse,

You might try the headset off your phone or tablet to start with.

On tge Barracuda, I've wired my headset up as serial, so doubles the resistance rather than halves it. However everything I've tried has been too loud and is still a bit so after changing the audio 100 ohm for a 470. Headsets I've tested have given me 33-100 ohms for the pair. The in-ear ones were 33 ohms and loudest. Designed for lower power I expect.

hey guys i have made a new coil (took ages) its a spiral wound 9.8" OD 27winds 313uH (as per online calculator) i am going to test it soon but the washing machine is going and it is upsetting the hole thing.

with nothing changed i have 4" clear signal, 5" almost and 6" slight
Hi impulse! I suggest you to make another coil in order to optimized the barracuda power. Spiral wound, spider wave and 3dss coil is far more better. 8" - 10" diameter is good.

Impulse after looking at your coil, what are the specs ?

    i had one of these

it worked to get the board going but was junk after that so i started using the buzzer which was better.

What headphones do you suggest guys? as this is ultimately the route i want to take so if i buy some i would like to buy a 'good starter set/high impedance headphone set) which will also help with the barracuda build (difficult to get 'a' single 'best' i know) or just a speaker that you guys used/bought, where did ya get it? (32 ohm).

Don't know for sure but bet a speaker would be better, maybe much better. Try to get one that is 32 ohms like this

high impedance headphones are an even better choice.
Maybe others can comment about what works best.
