Parrot tell us what coils you have measured the Q on and what ML models did they work with or not work with? Also why should i help you answer a question which i doubt you know the answer to? Then tell us how how you measured the coil Q! As for coil data the only data that matters is how the coil performs in the real world over typical GF ground! The spider wound mono coil i used satisfied me that it was superior to any commercial coil of equivalent diameter! end of story! Now prove me wrong!!!!!!!

Fill in the data and get back to us. (Make sure you provide data to explain why ML use high Q TX coils but low Q DD RX coils).

The mathematical definition of Q of a circuit is 2pi times the ratio of the maximum instantaneous energy to the energy dissipated over unit of time corresponding to one cycle. ie Q=2pi X energy stored/energy dissipated per cycle. At the instant the max energy stored in the inductance of a resonant circuit the amount of energy stored can be expressed as1/2L(Imax)^2 where I= current and L= inductance . The amount of energy dissipated per cycle in the circuit resistance then is the product of R and the sq of the rms current times the period T of one cycle. Ie R(Imax/sq root2)^2/F since T=1/f Q may them be calculated purely in terms of impedance ie Q=Omega L/R. Note however that the real value of L can only be calculated when the distributed capacitance of the inductor is taken into account. It should be noted that reducing the distributed capacitance and the proximately effect not only increases Q but results in improved antenna efficiency which is exactly one of the benefits of spider wound coils compared to bundle wound coils something the parrot is obviously unaware of!

Are you saying the resonant frequency of a coil results in an in-circuit resonance of the same frequency?
