  • Advice needed: Best DIY PI metal detector project for max depth on large targets

    Hi everyone

I’m looking to build a DIY pulse induction (PI) metal detector specifically designed for maximum depth on large, highly conductive targets i searched the forums complete project section and i couldn't find one that suits my expectation due to my lack of knowledge of metal detectors.
i want to make it so that it may reach 4m depth for objects around the size of 1 liter the soil is dry and low mineralization, i am looking for something with
-High transmit power (high-voltage or high-current pulses)
-Support for large mono coils (1+ meter)
-Proven success by other builders for deep detection

I’m comfortable building circuits with high-voltage MOSFET drivers
i am looking forward for any advice from the everybody willing to help and thank you all for your time

Is the detector intended for meteorite searches?

No, it’s not specifically for meteorites — I’m actually hoping to find old artifacts like cannonballs about 2kg or other historical metal objects.

The Delta Pulse seems to be a popular project for a large coil PI detector. There are many on the forum who have made it and lots of info. I am sure you could modify it to run higher currents and voltage. It has one drawback it uses an obsolete pre-amp LF357 which is hard to find. Maybe some of the guys have found a substitute?

I looked it up and the schemtiques where hard to find so i dumped it and then i switched to the mpp rev-e where i found out later that it is not the best when it comes to deep detection so now i am looking for a pi that is well documented like the mpp

            Hi,

the user kt315 recently sold DeltaPulse bare boards. Check with him. Maybe he has one left.

Superscan is exactly the project you want.

I can't find any details about Superscan—are there any schematics I can follow, or websites where I can learn more

Hi, 4m depth! the only people I know that go to that depth are military. Maybe its not a detector you are looking for.
Surf Detector on Youtube has some good PI examples which he has build videos for.
1m is deep, 4m needs specialist methods and equipement.

you took files from folder 'Eric Foster and his detectors_Goldscan'. ok, it is Eric's Aquapulse 1B. what your far action?
