  • TGSL - EDU , new boards and kits

New TGSL-EDU boards and kits are available in my shop www.silverdog.co.uk

These are lovely looking boards, black with GOLDEN solder pads

As the previous TGSL thread is now 180 pages long I think this new thread is needed to keep posts relevant to this EDU version in one place
If someone has a schmeatic, or useful info for this verison please post here.

    regards

          working diy coil

          hello,

who has a working selfmade coil and can post his coil datas
size, wire material, coil connector plug, type (concentric, double D or other?) etc.

          thanks

yes thanks, i have seen it already but maybe there some other possibilities like in the md4u.ru forum for the silver sabre it is a concentric coil not a double d but i have seen some people they build the concentric and say it doesn´t work but it was here in german forum some years ago

Is this GS version a multi tone detector or single tone?

                    Hi Silverdog,
How about making your standard resistor lead spacing another tenth inch longer?
                    (check photo this thread)
I think you need to commit to whether the resistors stand up on end or lay flat.
As it is now, they just look....~wrong :-) If new builders are thinking they should lay flat they may be damaging their resistors trying to make them so.

I don't design the boards, just get them manufactured and offer them to the forum

The spacing is actually correct and I have just placed a few flat onto the board, no problem

I guess the photo is a result of the resistors moving when soldering, at the end of the day they work as well as flat ones

There is a difference between different brands of resistors. All are 1/4W but some must have some form of metal hardening on the leads at the resistor body that makes them less pliable and they don't bend a sharp 90 degree bend close enough to the body to fit your hole spacing. I too just went to my parts bin - first part I tried was fine, next one was not. Body dimension visibly the same. I'm just sayin.....

                          Hello,

i think there is no problem with the resistors. whether you solder them flat on board, in ancle of 45 degree or vertical. it is just a question of space. In the end the values of the resistors are the same. The boards are sexy!

My Brazilian girlfriend is sexy. A pcb will never come close to being sexy.
