    I used mylar shield( at least I think it's mylar, salvaged from old cable) to shield a new coil but haven't tested it as yet. Hope it works. If it works well, then I'll say goodbye to graphite mixes, at least for DD. I built one concentric coil, and it didn't work very well, so there is definitely an art to building good coils. I think I'll give up on coil building and just buy manufactured coil instead, then build detector to suit ready made coil.

      Blue Mylar covered foil cable shield is still detected by my detector, the emergency Mylar foil blanket is undetected, it has very thin foil, about 200Ω end to end on 20cm coil.

        I finally tested my new coil and, It works very good. This is with so called "mylar" shielding.
