Your coil is most likely the problem. Use google translator and explain your problem in more detail.

Should have read "If you own the MXT, the modified Classic would be a downgrade."
Thanks for the clarification. I was pretty sure that was what you meant.

    very fun project
    ---
sorry not. there was very big advertisement from this men, be cause Bill Crabtree was administrator of forum.
certainly that is money, capitalistic money. what you want - to buy classic and for free info to do mods.
i must say you - i GAVE THE INFO BEFORE BILL. then Bill opened new thread and opened his secret.
all mods were strongly commercialized. just pay and no information was.
yes, you will do classic from classic. so really we need MXT schematic, BOM file, gerber files pocket
and free code. to do the mods. you know thats impossible.

I have read many references to the Classic Series in other forums, and have read this thread concerning Mr. Bill's mods. As I read it I couldn't help but think that from a performance point of view, if I already own a MXT then there really would be no need for me to buy a Classic and perform the mods. Would that be an accurate thought,, that the MXT is already equal to or greater than the modified Classic?

That said, I do love to tinker and if I stumbled upon a Classic it seems like it would be a very fun project.
If you own the MXT, its a downgrade to a Classic that is modified. The mods don't increase depth performance that much of a Classic, it just makes it more adaptable to hunting different soil conditions. A modified IDX Pro with Mr. Bills mod with the 6" search coil is a blast to hunt with. One of my favorites.
