The best is animy for better... I think even 2 ma economy from little battery is a result. The original circuit and modernized is not the same)))

I can see the basic schematic, but the fine print text here, I cannot read any of it. Tried printing to full page size, nothing works, the fine text is not readable to me. Can you enlarge this schematic so I can read the fine print? Thanks.Originally posted by Gervm View PostThe best is animy for better... I think even 2 ma economy from little battery is a result. It says in the first column:
L1 has 31.6 cm diameter
wound using wire 0.46 mm
Number of turns for 42kHz is 16+5+5+16 turns
Number of turns for 20kHz is 40+10+10+40 turns
In the second column:
L2 has 10.3 cm diameter
wound using wire 0.27 mm
Number of turns for 42kHz is 59+59 turns
Number of turns for 20kHz is 136+136 turns

Agree with you 100%.Originally posted by Gervm View PostInteresting question... I have made more than 20 diferrent detectors. These were PI IB OR BFO and even one proton magnetometer. Some of them were enough modern and contained a lot of parts. But I`ve found that for me the best principle is IB. I say more. In field simple IB devices work good ... not worse than expensive and modern. My friends have modern brends and I can compare them in work.
So I prefer enough simple devices as Whites Classic 1 or more simple non momtion detectors. And I find things at the same place after my friends whith expensive md. In this case more important quality of head coils, quality of parts and quality of assembly. For example good maden old static device (author Flind) can detect side of my car at distance 3,5 meters! Try to do it with ACE. Simple detectors have less weight and they are very economical - one battery works very long .

This is an ancient Heathkit design, and the performance in the field is extremely poor.Originally posted by kostas87 View PostHello from this old post. Is there anyone who has this advanced GD-48 design in pcb file to make the boards I would like to try the headers Ω. I don't have PCB programs.thaks!
You would be better off looking at a different detector design.
