I can tell you that the circuit does not contain crystal and no pic.
It has 2 transistors 1 ic and a voltage regulator and 6 resistance and 5 capacitors,
1 diode and a coil. Thats all. It is simple and efective.
Coil is good. I bet that coil design gives most of advantages for this device.

Small core and short coil concentrating magnrtic field at the end as well as sensitivity instead of usual pinpointers with long core and long coil.

    Am I right?

your 1/2" distance is written as 1 1/2 could be misleading for some.

    What design is that? S

Are we supposed to be working on a "Falcon MD20 Project"?
If so , this is the first I've heard of it.

Probably it should be called FAILCON.

Try Minelab. They already have a few PhDs for your assistance.

Hi WM6, I agree with you that determines how the chain is made
but I think the chain shown on the video can really call a thin chain
    without closure or whatever.

I agree with you, we do not seek into the air, but in the ground.
I make this week a video with wet beach sand and clay soil. I know the result.
I can only tell you this: you'll be amazed.
