I have to say that this circuit does very well on the beach, I was able to find coins at over 10 inches deep. I move slowly over the sand and listen carefully for small increase in the "click click" sound. I was surprised at how well it worked, it is very stable at the beach where there is little interference. My coil is not shielded. I set the threshold for just about 1 click per second, there I have best results.

Hello 6666, I am curious if you ever built out your Lucas Lab PCB for this detector?Originally posted by 6666 View PostHi Watanabe, thanks for the answer, thats interesting that the circuit does not give false beep at the end of a coil swing
its a shame that you fell into the sea.
I have a lucas lab PCB that I am pretty sure I bought from Silverdog, maybe if there is enough interest he might do a short run of PCB's ?
Cheers

hello everyone
i wanna build polones (the polish pi) and i'm just confused with coils , i can't find any exact information on the forum
i want to make a 30cm and a 60cm coil and i don't know what diameter enameled wire to wind the coils
can i use 0.5mm for both?
or like... 0.5mm for 30cm and 0.75mm for 60cm?
this is my first PI by the way
thank you in advance guys
