Carl not sure which way to proceed now. I do want a waterproof machine. What do they seal the coils with at whites? I was also thinking of doing like with an excal, it is what I meant to convey above but I am ok considering to fill the coil with epoxy as well. Not sure how that will effect the capacitance of the coil.

I have some MEK solvent for fish tanks, l I’ll have to see what it is exactly as it was shipped to me by accident.

White's used a mixture of MEK with ABS plastic. You can try to repair the cable with an epoxy cup but if the cable sheath is failing then I suspect it will be a short-term fix.

So I ordered the cable from McMaster, that’s just how I intended to wire it to the coil to make the connection water tight. My main concern was it the connection would introduce any losses to the coil or basically reduce depth.

thank you CP for pics. back board side pic is especcialy nice, near to perfect one. i see now it's whites' 505-0227 board.
we have a schematic of it from Carl M., fabric sch.
if you do camera shot orient a board in the way like you read - all signs and silk grafo must be in right reading orientation.

Yes, a dual field will work. SMPI was sold with a DF coil for a while.

Many water coils are poorly designed. What you want is a very thin profile, skinny donut, with a center-mount clevis. Some Eric Foster machines have the skinny donut and center clevis but not the thin profile. Tesoro concentrics (9x8 & 12x10) have the thin profile but not the other 2. All the water coils I have ever used are either really hard to push through the water or they flip & flop in the moving surf.

I agree, I really liked how the sand shark coil cut through the water but it did flop a lot. I have always wondered why manufacturers did not utilize an hydrofoil type design to make it easier. I still plan to fix this coil, I just don’t have faith it will perform well in the water.
