        A bifilar coil where the Tx and Rx coil are co-located(hence bifilar). How can we null such a coil, or do we even have to? See, you can have a DD bifilar, so you have an inductively balanced arrangement in which each half contains a co-located Tx and Rx coil. When the Tx is on(on both sides), both Rx coils can be made to cancel each other(post signal processing) because they are balanced in the DD arrangement. Fancy pancy switching could make this work or not.
        A beautiful symmetry is what the scientists always look out for. Surely this one can't be useless.

        It is not a bad thing just to throw ideas out there, maybe one will stick.

                    It is will be very good if your idea (and results) will gives some new results in TX-ON analysis of RX signals. The information for TX-ON analysis of Rx signals in PI detectors in ITMD3 book is not big, it is time for us to do more experiments in this area.

                      I have no idea about the book ITMD3. I didn't buy the book and really can't comment. The idea comes from Demon _ and after the experiments I came across a patent where it was written about this idea, but I really don't remember what the patent number is anymore.

Pick-up of energy by the receiver coil during the coil pulse is thereby minimized and the duration of oscillations is curtailed. Owing to the rapid recovery of the system from the flux change that is used to charge the target, the signal sampling gate can be positioned very close to the trailing edge of the coil-current pulse, whereby detection of targets with very short time constants is made possible.​

                            I know for this relatively old patent. It is not so difficult to made PI MD with simple mono or DD coil with 3-5us delay. I have some experience with adding of MOSFET transistors as switches connected to RX coils. The influence of parasitic capacitances in switching transistors add of noise pulses in RX signals and the final result is not good. Well designed fast coil with good low capacitance cable are sufficient to reaching of 3-5us delay. But in practice, for these so short delays, the influence of the ground is very strong and the real benefit is doubtful.
