Full resonance. By a small shift around the resonance of the receiver, the phase of the received signal is also determined. It must be obtained so that it corresponds to the medium of adjustment of the signal of the balance of the ground. This is easily done with a sample with a piece of ferrite. It really takes time. Then the resistors determining the discrimination are selected. It is possible to put a potentiometer to adjust the discrimination. The coils are with electrostatic screen, OO or DD type.

We hope you feel better soon, scs-bg. Thank you so much for sharing your schematic.Originally posted by scs-bg View PostI have a health problem. When I leave the hospital I will try to make a good scheme. This detector is not a pulse detector but it works great on the ground and on the beach. And for those who like pulse detectors I have something very good...
I'd like to build the schematic you just shared. I'll give it some time, and I hope someone finishes it and lets us know how it goes.

Back to post #63, I had a surf pi, pro, and dual field and was not happy with sensitivity and depth. I saw the changes mentioned and none of my detectors could pick up that 1/2” square piece of aluminum foil. I was messing around trying things and used a pot for R6 in that schematic to try and pick the ideal resistor value. I discovered there is one value for the absence of ringing and another value for best detecting… I’ve posted this at other forums but never heard of anyone commenting on it. Set the pot so one ring pulse remains. Instantly it’s a different detector. You can run at higher gain and it runs QUIET! It is so sensitive it picks up targets from outside the edge of the coil. It is a different detector. Probably more can be done to optimize the design once this change is made. I welcome someone to explain why this is an improvement as it goes against current practice.

What do you mean by a remaining resonant pulse? Could you explain that further?Originally posted by bklein View PostBack to post #63, I had a surf pi, pro, and dual field and was not happy with sensitivity and depth.
