  • Carl Moreland your valued opinion please.

I know that you are very busy but I would appreciate your thoughts on this video. Is it technically and electronically credible ?
What is coming next to the gold prospecting community?

That's a 45-minute video, can you narrow it down a bit?

Sorry its not my video. But the first 15 mins is i guess the bit that i am interested in and statements like this- smaller processors and smaller micro controllers run faster? The guy in the video is also a convicted felon felon .I will look to try and pull some other claims he makes from the video.

Some claims made the first 15 mins of the video which is all I would watch

Its totally modular with different modules.

        It blows everything else away

Its a quantum change in technology

        Smaller processors mean faster

It has more processing power and is a lot faster than processors in say the gpx 6000

It runs on 12 volts but can run at 18 volts

It has an novel control interface

It has high clock speeds and throughput

Its is totally automatic and can use any dd or mono coil

IMO if any the claims that it blows every away are born out in the field then a company will seek a discovery order to see if any of the companies patents are infringed and it will never see the light of day

I have no idea. All I know is that the detector has been talked about for a few years and has yet to make it to market. Maybe it will blow away the competition, maybe it won't. But I would encourage Woody to try.

BTW, I have no issues with Woody and find him to be a decent guy. Apparently you do not and feel the need to apply the "felon" label as if this will discredit anything else he has ever done or said. I urge you to drop that line of attack on these forums.

peterr3 , thanks for the thread – thanks to you I made a definition of the concept of “criminal”. According to him, Woody is not a criminal. The definition is based on the law of entropy: - a criminal is one who, with his actions, increases chaos (entropy). Many religions on our wretched planet (we are turning it into a desert with inspiration) consider this philosophical question. Think about it please – Woody is a man of work and thought – he creates ordered structures – he reduces chaos (entropy) with his actions.

peterr3, if you want to disagree with something Woody has said in his videos or on this forum, feel free to do so. But personal attacks are off limits. Once more, and you will get a vacation.

... some of the earlier minelab detectors ( eg SD series etc ) could be modified by "experts" to "improve" peformance.
Later generation minelab detectors cannot be reasonably modified as so much depends on the internal software which earlier detectors did not have and certainly not by 33%.
If anything any imagined improvements on later generation Minelab detectors are more likely to be a placebo effect.
Minelab didnt spend $10 million developing the GPZ series to have someone come along and improve it with foil tape.

If you are finding lots of birdshot, trash and iron bolts at upto a meter in the ground your GPZ is working fine ... when you walk over some gold you will find it.
If you are not finding lots of trash ... your GPZ is using the wrong settings or it is broken.
No amount of mods will help you walk over that gold though.

Frustrated finders who resort to mods only end up with Weltschmerz.

Woody makes this claim-"Our GPZ 7000 upgrades are designed to maximize your detector’s performance seamlessly. By upgrading key components on the motherboard and eliminating noise from critical circuitry, we deliver improved sensitivity and depth.
So are the key components on the motherboard just the foil tape?
