Somewhere I have (or had) an B&K 878. But now I use the DER EE DE-5000, it's both cheaper and better.

I've seen Manticore in action dozens of times, I'm not under any positive impression, to put it mildly.
I haven't had the chance to test the other one, so I can't judge.
But it strikes me as a machine worthy of attention.
But this statement of mine should be limited to the context of the soils and terrains available to me.

Thanks Carl, I’ll get one.
By watching Calabash’s last video I discovered he has banned me for posting the video I posted here. I really tried to help him out without getting personal. Amazing to see the list of guys he has added to the banned list.
Ivconic, yes both machines may not have the capabilities to optimize performance in a variety of environments. I’m gradually selling off most of my detectors - I imagine I’ll be keeping just these two eventually.

True, until a few months ago I had a "collection" and it started to bother me around the house.Originally posted by bklein View PostThanks Carl, I’ll get one.

It becomes pointless.
And I'm selling off one by one.
I'll just keep the Deus 1 and the Garret GTI 2500.
I also have a Fisher CZ6, I'll keep that as a collector's item. Although it works very well.
The problem is that I don't have an idea, I don't see any perspective and sense in acquiring a new model.
The ancient terrains that I have around me have been heavily explored on the surface, maybe the first 30cm.
(I'm not talking about "meters" here, but a couple of centimeters deeper!!!)
And beyond that depth, there is currently no detector that can effectively find anything.
Because the composition of the soil on such terrains is so harsh that even the best models cannot do anything there.
And on the other hand; I'm sure and it's 100% proven that there are still many valuable finds under those depths.
This is proven by archeological probes that are excavated on purpose.
What does this prove?
That MD technology is ineffective and powerless after certain depths.
This is where all my pessimism comes from, which is often seen in my posts.

“I go online only with a laptop – I don’t use a smartphone. In the lower right corner, a sign that looks like a gear wheel appears – settings. You tap (click) with your index finger on the settings – you see the caption subtitles (1) off. Under the caption off, you see English – automatically generated (or, for example, French – automatically ...). You click on the caption and when you see “automatic translation” – click! On the right, the languages appear alphabetically. You scroll and find your native language. The translation is “wooden”, but satisfactory ..“
Thanks for the help! Never knew that was the trick.
