did you mean i should use irf740 instead of mtp without any other changes?
looks good low on resistance so more power for coil - but no other protection needed?

should add one bidirectional Suppressor Diode (1.5KE400CA) parallel to coil

hello all

i need help to redesign a pi detector layout.

is the german "tiny" from www.pulsdetektor.de

the design is from 2002 but is still a good beginner detector with a lot

of modifacation option.

im not 100 percent sure and able to do redesign.

but what i want is change Q1 MTP2P50E (PMos/500V) as replacemant
the layout should take a irf9640 plus two biderectional supressor diodes

another change could be to change U2 LF357 to another one, lf357 is out

of production and hard to get or very expensive.

i would be nice if someone could do a new layout
with new Q1 plus diodes

changing u2 is a task for later is hard to find a substitute.
