    thanks.
look in the partlist i think there is a error at r23 (missing 2)
    so r23 10k and r3 1K

    and r5 at q2 is not r5 it is r35 r5 is besides r6

some hints for those who dont speak german

i need help to redesign a pi detector layout.

is the german "tiny" from www.pulsdetektor.de

the design is from 2002 but is still a good beginner detector with a lot

    of modifacation option.

im not 100 percent sure and able to do redesign.

but what i want is change Q1 MTP2P50E (PMos/500V) as replacemant
the layout should take a irf9640 plus two biderectional supressor diodes

another change could be to change U2 LF357 to another one, lf357 is out

of production and hard to get or very expensive.

i would be nice if someone could do a new layout
    with new Q1 plus diodes

changing u2 is a task for later is hard to find a substitute.

    regards bernd

I built this small detector some time ago, it works quite well. Don't try to find MTP (too high Rds) use IRF9640 instead, no suppressors needed. Also change-adjust R1 dumping resistor value, this one on schematic is way too high for any coil. Especially critical in this detector, because timing is synchronized whit RX signal (U7), any ringing will mess up detector operation completely. If you have problems whit audio, just replace CNY17 whit another one from different manufacturer(too high mfg. tolerances). This detector is nonmotion mode, so you can expect significant warm-up drift and threshold will change during operation, (temperature, battery voltage etc), good idea is to use 10turn helipot for threshold (R34). Quality parts are mandatory, metal film R, film caps etc. Otherwise not bad at all. Original PCB is nightmare, more jumpers than parts, i built mine on prototyping board. Try to find LF357, 2x356 will work too (356 is as fast as 5534, if you not use some very fast coi will be OK). Also, just to mention, stunt whit 4053 (U3) and grounding integrator stage between pulses (R13/14) is completely unnecessary.

"Me no likey" went on my behalf, and you are right, google translate can't translate cartoon English. Sorry.

I'll stick to posh English and RP in the future.

What I want to tell people the forum is to help them understand what it is about you I do not publish notice in English but I said that my English is not good andis thus you make it impossible to communicate my regret. I optitvam is to write a little about not embarrass people. but there google translator who profit az.I and I read some nonsense translated in my language but I try to understand what it is, let everyone show imagination and logic. hello

    question was for possible redesign
so that i could it made more modern

coil in video is a monoloop

has enough sens for small objects and for my task

but you are right there is also a dual field planar shaped coil for this unit
shown and also a dual field with a outer ring and and inner star with three spikes
so you get fields with higher and fields with lower em concentration

the tiny which is shown has only a little part of all possible mods

    the pots are
    volume/tune with on/off switch
fine threshold with with multiturn pot
    pot for variable coil damping

other can be sampling delay and pulswidth
in this case some resistor are replaced by pots

for using a supressor diode parallel to coil i dont need to redesign right?
just to solder one between coil connector inside housing would be best solution?
(when using a irf... for q1)

    regards bernd

The coil at video is not a dual-field coil. If you read at the site of pulsedetektor you will find the detail of the dual-field coil who is more sensitive to small objects

This probe is a 28 cm. If so may want more depth for small items is otherwise very good.
