  • Deephunter vs Jeohunter 3D

Hello good detecting Peopel all over the World.
Ive been away some time, needed a break. But I'm back. Since I had succes to make my small XP Deus coil, Ive been the owner at a TDI PRO, and a Makro racer, and at Garett at gold, so my Deus got some Freinds now.
Now I'm looking after a new toy, and got my eys at either the jeuhunter or the deephunter.
to those who dont know the different, first Makro made the jeohunter I think in 2010-11, Shortly after Nokta had made a similar devise. The in 2012-13 the Deephunter came with the deephunter and this model got a VLF motion Detector built in allso.
I found the longgggg thread from Funfinder at that time he got the deephunter, and since then - the thread ran out.

The reason to buy this deephunter or the jeuhunter is because I just had this luck of a life time, to finding a little hoard with 42 Very rare Viking coins, spread over an area at 15 x 8 meters, in a VERY infested iron area...With the XP Deus small coil, First one coin, then another coin, two days later the third coin, and after many hours later and a lot of digging iron, the fourth coin came up with my TDI PRO. Those 4 coins came up from 5-15cm down. And Thats was that the first to weeks freetime from work. Four coins in a small area said to me that a posible hoard could be down there, and some soil must be scraped off, to seach deeper down.
With some good help of the Local museum and a machine scraping off soil, we found 8 coins more in 30-35 cm dept. (One coin weight is 0.9 gram of silver with a diameter 18-20 mm)
at that time there were no sign of anymore. To months later the national museum gave finance surport to take of all soil, 5 cm by 5 cm, and lucky me,more coins came up until 55-60 cm down. 42 in total.
If the one of those scanners (jeuhunter og Deephunteren) will work like they promise, I would had think that some work could had been safe, sure the information that there were no Big hoard with many coins together, but only some spread coins in a little area.
Now the fatansy and dreams is going.. What about the other good fields I got and had found some few coins... Could there be more hidden in the ground and would a scanner could get a signal, I can't hear with some of my VLF or even the TDI.
My Big concern is iron and masking problems... Even If I did dig up all the biggerst iron in a area, there would be iron deeper down I can't hear with a normal Detector, and that iron properly will mask out the goodies, If they are small like those coins I just found.
Any good advise please, it would be 1000 Thank you, is it a waist of money the jeuhunter or the deephunter.
    Henrik.
Ps. Picture is the 16 first coins there came up, before the national museum came and Helped out.

      Every treasure hunter's dream.

If you can get a Jeohunter or Deephunter on loan (hopefully free), then it would be an "interesting" exercise. Personally though, I think it would be a waste of money, and hugely disappointing, to buy either of these detectors.

You could use the TDI with a large coil to find any deep targets, then dig a large hole and probe around the inside and bottom with a small coil on the Deus to get better separation. Detecting small coins in the presence of large iron is always a problem. There's no magic solution. Even GPR won't help.

        Thanks Qiaozhi ...

yeah the TDI with a big coil could be a tool and good idea to a loan or free test. That will be my target.
Funfinder you were up in the sky, two years ago with your Deephunter.
Do you still use it ? please come in, or anything from a owner would be so nice.

One thing I noticed.. There is NONE utube made by a private person, with a succesfull Digging story using
one of those scanner detectors, Makro or Nokta made. Wonder why There must has been some buyers the last
2-3-4 years there allso got a videocamera and a utube account.

for what you open again this matter subject? are you scam dealer arsenal member?? I reminder you that Geotech is not indexed in search server systems so any tries of adwertizing of the scam are un-perspective.

Qiaozhi - I forgot to tell you, that the TDI in low conducted GB coarse 5 and delay 15us, is working really good, disc. out 99% of all iron and its open to those 1 gram silver coins I found. GAIN 8-9 is often posible allso.
And to me the TDI seem to do a better job among iron, that the VLF detcetors I got. Still masking problems but not much with the TDI.
just like many said before buying the TDI last year.

@ kt315 Play with your wannabe-detectors if you can't efford the real stuff!

              @ Qiaozhi
              > would be a waste of money, and hugely disappointing

Shurely not if someone searches for the real big and deep stuff, but to search for coins there might be
cheaper solutions - per example the Racer or Blisstool.

We must not forget that the Jeo- and DeepHunter uses ultra e-smog and mineralization stable non-motion
which is already 20-30% deeper by it self compared with any motion detectors and used correctly
the 45cm coil absolutly is able to reach extremly deep stuff if its around 5-10cm in size or larger.

But someone must like to work with such heavy and not that easy to handle equipment.
And for very good depth results the 45cm coil should be moved not too fast over the ground.

              @ Henrikras

Congrats to your viking coin hoard find! I know this feeling, its fantastic!

Well - DeepHunter und Jeohunter are both very deep with the 45cm coil and non-motion!
But for single coins the so far most deepest detector is the DeepHunter with 33cm motion-coil.
Its also the most e-smog stable solution for very small stuff.

Since I have buried some hoard of 500gr Beercaps 70cm deep below very loamy and hig mineralized soil
I have tested all kind of detectors and coils there and not all were good enough to detect it.

Of course it really depends what you wanna find and how large is the whole area.
Perhaps you may give me more info about the searching-circumstances.

And if the museums will give you the money for the detector I would get the best possible.

If you wanna save money and only looking for coins you also can get the Makro Racer with standard coil.
The Blisstool is also pretty deep for coins but it is not that e-smog stable.

Its also a question if you like it rather "very lightweight" or if you can handle some 40-45cm coil over
a longer period of time. Apropos longer period of time: If you wanna be motivated by listening music
while hunting you also may try the Makro Racer with its vibration.

I reached gigantic results this year with that detector - now I could be famous all over Europe if I want it!
I've hunted down square-kilometers of battlefield-area and this was just the beginning.

                Thanks Funfinder...
Ps. I Just got the Makro Racer a month ago... With all 3 coils. Yes this Detector is AWESOME, allso among iron.
Made one simple test with some silver coins and last with a 0.55 silver coin (just a little smaller size and weight as my viking coin from the hoard) and a rusty iron nail, and did a Deus vs AT Gold vs the Racer... http://youtu.be/49zl0mhVsHY

After the test (see it at utube), I found out that the Racer with the Stock coil is much more powerfull and Thats Maybee why only this Detector could get a signal from the coin, close up a iron nail. Because the coin was at the border to the Deus and the AT Gold.
(Could be the reason that the Deus and the ATG gave a Weak signal without the nail close test)

                Concerning the deephunter!
One million thoughts has past by, since I did think about this deephunter and type like that.. My concern has been IRON, because all my good fields they all got alot of Old rusty Iron. And yes I had been Digging up a lot iron, to get increase the good finds.
Because my worry the iron, I turned my eyes at the DRS ground Exper PRO, and I'm close to ordre this.. (My good freind will buy it in his Company to safe tax, he allso a crazy Detector guy like me, so this DRS will be at Four hands in the feature)

Thanks anyhow... I hope to tell some good story with AWESOME finds in the feature.
                Henrik.

That's an expensive detector! Hopefully it will perform as good as they claim.
Personally, I know nothing about this particular detector, so your honest review would be most welcome to everyone here.

Apparently it's a PI, so I cannot see how they are rejecting iron of various sizes. It doesn't seem to be a magnetometer / PI combination, and appears to rely on target conductivity rejection and a visual display of shape.

I guess you'll find out the reality when you become the proud owner.

I had a JeoHunter-3D, and four months ago and is pure garbage.
It is a VLF-TR detector, which is not able to detect more than 25cm a coin.
I would not recommend to anyone because it is a waste of money.
The ground balance is practically iposible to adjust.
                    No auto track.
When you get reject a mineral, you always detects another well.
In the end I sold it very cheap to get rid of him.
I hope you like my experience.
                    A greeting.

It would be good if some forum members already have used DRS electronics's metal detectors and share experience ......what about price ,is it worth to buy one .....

                          > Thanks Eduardo..

                          What???

This is not "Thanks" - this is "stupid", Henrikras, because you know nothing about this devices at all!
And if you would have readed the complete Jeohunter and DeepHunter thread you would know the
                          difference already perfectly!

Test it and loke it or leave it !!! Those detectors are no toys for all of those who
wanna play around with their cheap, nice and easy lightweight mini-coil-thingies.

And the info with the coin from Eduardo also was crap!

                          I will write more later.

Yes Tragac that could had been perfect. In the US finds treasure forum, Mr.Landman got one a he is (or was) Very happy with his DRS ground Exper, he allso had the information about a rare historic find with the ground Exper. It was his positive writing there was helpfull to me, and the reason that I did ordered the Ground exper and not the Makro deephunter.
The best explaination I found, is at this Dealer; http://alareeman.com/drs_en.htm
Next week my DSR ground Exper will arrive and after some days testing, I will be happy to tell you (and everyone) how this new to me type of Detector scanner works....
The Price is 4550€ with the Big coil ex.vat.
In my case I will not use the Big 1 x 1 meter coil, only the 9" and 18" coil, and my prize was then 400 € less.

But Funfinder..... I has been in mail corresponding with Makro, asking few quenstretion and explaining the Danish search, soil, iron, hopeing that they could explain more about how the deephunter (in mode 1 only with the T44 coil) works in with iron / masking.
but either they answer in east when I'm asking in West, or they didn't answer my mail.
yeah it would had been nice to had tryed or test the deephunter, but I didn't get an offer from Makro, that exclusive service.
In mode 2 (motion) I had no doubt that this Deephunter is AWESOME... But it is to exspensive to buy this only to use in mode 2, Specially when I got deep VLF Detectors allready. (makro racer, Blisstool, Nokta Velox one).
Funfinder.. You can see that buying the DRS is carrefully considered. Okay I could have been more patient and waited, but it is so hard to find any exsperience arround the World, with any of these type of detectors.
                              nice day to you all.
