Sure, military etc., but the citizens of a country also wanna be protected from criminals or foreign states.
There are simply too many egoistic people with too many different opinions and intentions everywhere!
Together with over-population and a lack of needed life-important resources this always leads to conflicts.
But I hope that you will not have a huge inflation at your country so money gets worthless more and more.

If you are personally not a friend of the military-regime in your country you might have a little problem
but if you have good connections you might get even some demining-detector for free!
But I'm not good enough informed to know what is exactly going on at Egypt and how good it is for the
people who are living there. I just can help you as good as possible and hope the best for you my friend.
And as long as you make always such great finds on the beach your life will be OK.

by the way please make shure that you also order or be able to built a working coil if you get a PCB !
Many detectors are not working or only with highly reduced sensitivity because the coil is bad!
The coil also needs to be fixed very stable inside a coil housing and the cable from the coil to the
detector has to be waterproof, shielded, grounded or otherwise correct. Much success!

I could e-mail the municipality office of Alexandria and offer them my free services
regarding treasure-hunting and I will assure them that I really don't wanna take
any finds for my self and I ask them if I'm allowed to bring my own metal-detector.

Or - and now you are coming into the game - I also can ask them if I can bring a
metal-detector for a friend into the country, too!

The money would not be an object because if this idea works the metal-detector for you
of course would be a present.

the SD shop is a source of poor layouted pcb done by beginners. a pcb (any pcb) has to be done by PROFESSIONALS
and has to be perfect in layout. i see only trash there... after somebody bought a pcb he opened new subject and all begins from a start... around endless circle all are repeating again and again.

Silverdog's online shop is a source of good quality metal detector PCB's and components for use with projects on Geotech.

The projects on the "newhobby" website are completed boards, and have nothing to do with Geotech. The designs offered are a complete unknown, and without more information it is difficult to tell whether they are any good or not. Geotech members are mainly interested in either bare PCBs or a kit of parts. Neither of those options are available from "newhobby". I also notice that they offer for sale the known-to-be-dodgy Chinese UltraFire Li-ion batteries (rated at 4200mAh).
Personally, I would proceed with caution until proven otherwise.

they are practically ready to go or to built into some housing.
I think the best for you would be if the coil also is already pre-made, ready to use.

Of course I can help you my friend but I must go for sure first that it will be really a help for you!
I can not order such PCB board by myself at the moment but I can ask someone who may do it for you.
And forget about silverdug or dog or whats his name if he doesn't answers, order the stuff directly
by yourself or send the money to a trustable person you know already.

Ask kt315 here from this forum if you can buy from him some second-hand but aready working MD-circuit with coil!
He even write everything in cyrillic on the parcel or writes that these are parts for house security system!

Life is no highway, there are always some obstacles, but we will find a way so you will get a working metal-detector!

What is with Arionas from Greece, are you still in contact with him?
And how much money do you wanna spent for an already complete PCB inclusive the rest of the needed parts?

And why you can't or do not want find any treasure-hunter-connections at Alexandria, Cairo, Luxor, Thebes etc.?
Is traveling too expensive? And don't forget the dangers you might get into if you walk with a metal-detector over
the beach! Because if it is not forbidden to search on the beach you also should be able to buy it in Egypt ....

So first you really must answer to me, us and to yourself some questions before we can take any further steps.
Relax and have fun my friend! Treasure hunting is an adventure and at the moment you can enjoy the adventure
of finally geting your first really working metal-detector!

Look, thanks to this forum you have now links where you can order ready PCB's for just 10 dollars!
You will get your detector, it's just a question of a few days or weeks.

Perhaps someone here even donates for you a working metal-detector PCB so you will get it for free!
Because 10 dollars plus some postage is not a huge amount of money for a good situated person or
for a rich and successful treasure-hunter!
